I am currently 11weeks and I have this really itchy rash across my belly. It's very itchy, but comes and goes in severity, usually worse in the evenings.
Has any one had PUPPPS and does this sound like what it is, I know it's usually a 3rd trimester thing but it can occur at other times.
It doesn't disappear altogether, just comes out worse then calms down a bit haha still itchy all the time and only time I itch is in my sleep! And it has bled and gone really gross!
Oh I hope not. You poor thing if it is! I had it for the last 11 days of DS's pg. The WORST time ever! I wouldn't wish it on anyone. No medieval torture chamber could compare lol! Unfortunately the only thing that really worked for me was giving birth - instantly gone. I showered with pinetarsol (some relief from this). Used the cream prescribed by my ob (waste of money), smothered myself in calamine (some relief). Suffered through the itch trying so hard not to scratch. Smothered myself in calamine again each hour until the buildup was too thick to have any effect. Repeat. Every 3 - 4 hours around the clock. I had it on my belly, ankles, knees & wrists. I also decided "what to expect when you're expecting" was a complete waste of money too when it described it as "a mildly itchy rash". I was annoyed with the book prior to that but that comment just made me want to go to the author's home & punch them in the face! I really hope it is not PUPPPS for your sake because you are so early. Maybe it's not since this is not your first pg? I was told it usually only occurs in first pgs (although apparently not always because I have a friend who had it in her second).
I thought I had PUPPPS with DD2...thankfully despite the insane itching it was in fact a mega increased sensitivity to chemicals and synthetic clothes
that was really random for me, but did mean that for the remainder of the pg i couldnt use soaps, go swimming or wear synthetic fabrics against my skin. it was insane.
I would get it checked by your midwife JIC. when i had it my IM sent me off to be checked for shingles as well.
I don't have puppps but I do have some other type of hormonal rash. Dr though it was viral for a week it was so bad. Try applying undiluted apple cider vinegar to the rash, a) I've found it helps relieve the itch and b) it has helped clear the rash up. It's still there (I think four weeks now boo) but the acv made it less angry and aggressive looking.
Seen the doctor and he goes just let me consult with Dr google lol, well at least he was honest in not knowing haha but he had never heard of PUPPPS so he called in another Dr and she thinks its PUPPPs but wants to review me in a week.
