Just updating - I ended up getting some floradix as it seemed the most cost-effective. I am not good at remembering to take it - but I am feeling okay energy wise (aside from having a 3 week cold). The healthfood shop lady tried to sell me spiralina (sp?) as well but I didn't get it.
Liquid tonics do tend to be more easily absorbed but its important to know how much iron you are needing to take. Most herbal formulas are too low in iron to assist in chronic deficiencies. I've been aneamic on and off for 25 years and feel like I've taken them all!! I currently am low in iron and need to take 105mg or iron per day so I take the chemist one called Fero-Gradumet (I think) which has 105 mg of elemental iron. To put it into perspective, the blackmores iron supplement has 5mg. The chemisty ones can give you constipation so I take it with metamucil every day.
