Angry Preggo Carpal tunnel and swelling in the hands

    Hi all,

I have just realised that I have preggo carpal tunnel and have had really bad swelling in my hands, that is still there this morning and is tingling as I type this!

I wore wrist supports last night and woke on worse today than ever!!!

Is there anything I can take herbal or otherwise that will help get rid of the fluid that won't hurt bubs in the process?

Can this lead to preaclampcia (spelling) due to the fact that it's the upper body swelling and not the lower body??

I've been referred to the hosp physio but am still waiting for them to get back to me with an appointment.

Any help or advise at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

Swelling can be a symptom associated with PE, but just because you have swelling doesn't mean you will get PE.

I sent you a PM..... massage can be really helpful for carpal tunnel.

Hollye- Bummer about the PE- Make sure you take it easy. xx

Hollye - I hope you're PE doesn't progress to a more serious stage. Is that to do with your blood pressure too? I was talking to some friends today and they said they thought PE was more high blood pressure not necessarily swelling??

Hope the next 5 weeks goes quick and you have your baby soon, being swollen isn't nice!

Falguni - thanks for the PM.

Tash - Book in and have an acupuncture session & you can get some chinese herbs that are harmless during pregnancy

The acupuncture should work its magic straight away and you should be able to feel it instantly.
I haven't suffered personally, but had a girlfriend who did - she eventually had to have surgery, but I know the acupuncture was her saving grace when she was pregnant

    Good Luck hun
