    Soothing the itch (possible cholestasis)

I'm going nuts!! Came out in a rash Sunday morning, by last night although the rash was nearly gone, my hand had swelled up
No sleep last night due to itchyness, honestly feels like bee stings on my hands .
Off to hospital we go, no spider bite to be found, it's obviously an allergic reaction to something. Nothing had changed so no idea what.
Midwife is warning me about cholestasis.
Going to get blood test if the itch isn't gone in a few days.
I'm on phenergan which is helping, as well as some soov cream which isnt really.

Any ideas how to soothe the itch?? It's horrible, like the aftermath of a bee sting on both my hands.

Sent from DHs iPhone. Sorry if it's confusing!!

charlotte, i developed cholestasis and had to be induced at 36 weeks. The only real "cure" is delivery.

In the meantime eliminate fried food, fatty food and dairy from your diet and try calamine lotion.

    good luck with it!

Going to try and see dr to get BT. Got sores all through my hair from scratching and the itch is getting worse.
Face and ears are puffy too.

    Getting a bit worried.
Plenty of movement from bub, not concerned about him. Just want to know what this is.!

Charlotte, I really do think you should go to the doctor today.

I'm not trying to scare you but it is something you shouldn't ignore.

I hope it's nothing and all is well.

After lots of phone calls ive managed to get an appt this afternoon. Swelling has gone down but I'm still itchy as hell.

So much for my worry free pregnancy.
I'm 36+4, so I know bub could come anytime.

    Try not to worry.

Just make sure they test you as thoroughly as possible.

If they want to induce you, don't freak out. Just realise it is the best thing to do.

Everything will be fine, I'm sure x

Dr seems to think that it's a reaction to the Zantac so won't listen to anything I have to say.. But I've been on it for 2 months.

Seeing OB in Friday and plan on getting some real answers.
