You poor thing.

I have had shingles and it will only attack one area of your nervous system at a time. You will need to find out if the area on your face that is affected follows the same nervous ustem track as down your chest. For me it wrapped from the back of my neck, over my shoulder and down onto my chest on the left side.
The good news is it will go away. I had no scarring although at the time it looked vicious! I can remember freaking out thinking I would never be able to wear a strapless wedding dress or a strappy top ever again. Important not to scratch and apply ice to it if it is really bad.
The bad news is the nerve pain lasted for months. I couldnt wear a bra strap or carry a handbag on that shoulder for a good 3 months and even after then, the pain would sometimes resurface after carrying someothing that applied pressure to the area.
I cant remember how long it took for the marks to go away. I was at uni when it happened. I remember I was first diagnosed with a spider bite that caused an allergic reaction and I was told to take some antihistamine. What a joke! It wasnt until I was in complete agony and could not even lift a mobile phone to my ear with that arm that I went to another doctor who said straight away shingles.
I hope you get better soon. It really does hit you for six. Rest is so important and I know that is hard to do. Maybe stress to DH that the doctor has told you that your immune system is sitting on zero (which would be true) and if you dont rest and try to take it easy you will end u in hospital. Yes you need to work, etc but he needs to step up and help with the girls and the house more so you can have time to recover.
Lots of

to you hun
