I am rhesus negative and luckily knew this prior to having a D&C before I had children. Hubby is rhesus positive. For my first pregnancy, I had an initial blood test to check for antibodies, then two more blood tests throughout my pregnancy. I had no antibodies and was given the anti-d after the birth when my daughter's cord blood had tested to be rhesus positive.
Second bub with same Ob, was more relaxed. I think he tested for antibodies initially, but then once after (I think). I then had the anti-d after the birth as my son was also rhesus positive.
