I've just come back from (finally) seeing my Dr and the first thing he said is that he's had 3 other patients this week with the same symptoms, ie feeling like the room is tilting (as compared to spinnning round), nausea, light-headedness etc. He believes I have a viral infection of the inner ear. If it doesn't resolve itself within 6-8 weeks from the onset of symptoms, I apparently need to go back and see him. But he's not too fussed about it.
He reckons whenever I feel light headed, to cough hard, as that will force blood into the affected area of my ear.
