If you print out a list of acidic and alkaline foods it helps - and the idea is to make your diet around 70% alkaline and 30% acid. If you have meat, then only have it once a day and ideally at lunch. Try to buy organic and keep the serving size normal/small. We don't have a perfect alkaline diet, but I have ramped up the alkaline foods, eating lots of avocado, tomato, onion, garlic, fresh fruit and veg. I cut out the more acidic fruits like oranges and mandarines, and don't like banana anyway, but the whole idea right now is to heal your gut. You can still treat yourself, you can't be rigid your whole life, but make the majority of what you eat alkaline where you can.

One of my fave things to eat at the moment is rice and chia bread, toasted (its like half the size of normal bread so I have two), covered with a diced avocado and cherry tomatoes, sprinkled with chia and sesame seeds. Soooo good and filling! We also make lots more soups, last night I made my man a cauliflower soup which had a little potato, onion, garlic, vege stock (vegeta) and he loved it to bits - was more yummy than I expected! It seems daunting at first but you just have to find the good recipes and you'll be surprised how yummy you can make alkaline foods. Also a huge thing is juicing for brekkie (or other times) too. Carrot, celery, beet, apple.... YUM! Loads of combos.
