    Dequervains Tenosynovitis

    Hi,

I've just been diagnosed with Dequervains Tenosynovitis, which makes my wrist very painful. The physio has said that I need to rest it for it to get better - pretty difficult since I'm the mum of a 7 week old! I just wondered whether anyone else had come across it (it's supposed to be quite common in new mums), and how long it had taken to fix? Also - got any tips on treating it?

    Thanks!

I had Dequervains when I was a teenager. Strange, because you're only supposed to get it when you're pregnant, a new mum or over 60. But I'm wierd...

I ended up having surgery because I couldn't use my hand at all. Couldn't even pick up an empty glass. Took two years to have the surgery though.

Best wishes, sorry I can't be more helpful.
