Has anyone ever ruptured or done any damage to their spleen??

I know such a weird question but last night I woke at 5:30am with the most seering pain on my left hand side under my ribs and pain through the same area piercing my back. IT was so bad that I had to sit up as lying down was out of the question. The pain just hit me out of no where. I actually took 3 nurofen plus because I was at the point of crying.

I have just woken again with the seering pain in the same spot and also pain up into my left shoulder. But the pain is still localised to the same area under my ribs on the left hand side.

I had to actually google an image of what organ was there as I had no idea and it said the spleen.

I know googling is not always good but all the symptoms I have are pointing in that something is wrong with my spleen.

Has anyone had any experience with spleen problems??

I am going to the doctors in the morning as this pain is terrible! Have jsut had to take some more nurofen plus to deal with it.

I should also mention that the pain is like someone twisting somethign inside me and then releasing and then doing it again.

I agree it sounds like gall bladder. Get it checked out anyway hon and see what they say. On a seperate note, I know the neurofen plus is helping but do try to restrict how much you use and make sure you have it with food. You don't want a bleed in your tummy as well. I recently had a chap come through work who took a whole pack of neurofen plus in a 12 hour period to cope with a migrane... he ended up with a massive bleed in his gut and a 3 day hospital stay. Better to head to ED and get them to give you something stronger as well as investigate the cause of your pain. Sounds like you will need some sort of imaging done to work out what is going on.
