The hard thing about recovery times, especially for your procedure, is that it largely depends on the following factors:
1) what they find when they are inside
2) how well YOUR body recovers
3) how well you follow the post op instructions
Remember, everyone is a little bit different and the recovery time will vary for everyone. The best advice I can give you is to go to the consultation with the orthopedic surgeons and chat to them about your concerns. They will be able to give you a much more accurate estimate of recovery time for you. You will be given rehab exercises which they will explain to you. Most hospitals will make you stay in over night for a hip. Knees are almost always a day case and often a shoulder. But I've never seen a hip as a day case and we are a big orthopedic hospital. The expected stay is usually only 1 night though.
