LLETZ Surgery.. How long did you bleed for afterwards?

Hi,

I was just wondering those who have had LLETZ surgery, how long you bled for after the proceedure?

I had my period when i had the surgery done, but have now been bleeding for almost 5 weeks (inc a 2nd period last week). I seem to go through the stages the GYNO said of red/dark brown/light brown but then it starts over again. Im not bleeding much at all.. not even enough to fill a pad each day.. and theres no smell to it.. its just still there. Is this normal?

I hope you have recovered by now. I have also had a LLETZ but never bled that much.

I hardly bled at all, I think from memory (coz it was quite a few years ago) it was about a week.

Totally off topic and just a little advice if and when you have another bubba make sure your care providers keep an eye on the length of your cervix. My IC was put down to having the LLETZ procedure done and no one warned me.

I ended up bleeding for a month, up until my next period. Once my period was over the bleeding stopped. At my check up my gyno said you can bleed up to 6 weeks, after that they put you on anti biotics. But he said all looked like it healed nicely.

Thanks Tiffanny. Im sorry you went through that. My Gyno has told me im to have extra scans and if need be a stitch. All a bit scarey.
