Yes I am an IBS sufferer too. What exactly did you want to talk about. i think the condition is pretty broad. I kinda believe that it is what they diagnose you with when they can't find something else to name it!! I have endometriosis too and my symptoms of IBS flare up badly around the time of the month. Extremely painful to use the toilet, constipation, etc. I was on a drug called colofac which really helped. I used to get excruciating stabbing pains in my bowel at the most innappropriate times and would not be able to move or speak and while taking this drug this did not happen. I stopped taking it while pregnant and breastfeeding. I will probably start taking it again soon. The other thing the specialist recommended was ventolin. When you have an attack of pain have two puffs of ventolin and it relaxs the muscle of the bowel which is very similar to you windpipe. I hope some of this info helps you.
I was never officially diagnosed, but when my chronic fatigue syndrome was at its worst I was very much that way - constantly varying between being constipated and having the runs.
I've found that taking aloe vera capsules really helps - I'm generally ok now, but when things start getting a little nasty I grab some more and then I'll be OK for a couple of months after I run out, normally.
Since starting metformin, I've not been brave enough to let myself run out!
What exactly is this? I'm not sure if i have this, but sometimes i have the runs really bad and have the worst wind pain to accompany it and it's really hard to stop. I'll be sitting there for 20 mins, in horrendous pain wondering when it'll end. Thankfully since becoming pregnant it hasn't happened. I'm scared it will and hurt bubs.
Yep I'm a sufferer. Well that's what we figured after tests for various other conditions came back negative. I even saw a naturopath to try and fix the problem. I've been quite good during my pregnancy though. Maybe it's gone away?! I hope so.
To those of you who suffer from IBS, I`m beginning to think maybe I do.
I never had a problem with my bowel, I seemed to have quite a good strong stomach and stomach bugs would bypass me.
With my current pregnancy I came down with severe gastro from food posioning at 10 weeks into my pregnancy, after 4 days of diarrhoea and vomiting I was sent to hospital for IV fluids, since then I have had bouts of diarrhoea and just 2 weeks ago I had about 5 days worth of diarrhoea - nothing like my gastro so I`m wondering if I`m thinking along the right track by saying maybe with my gastro it totally striped my stomach lining and I now have IBS, I have a funny feeling it`s linked to my glass of milo which I have occasionally, since cutting it out I`m now back to constipation, it seemsto be one thing or the other nothing in the middle.
