I took codeine while pregnant, and was told by FIL (GP) to only ever take it for 3 days in a row, and NEVER once labour started, as it can affect the bub.
I had plain prescription codiene (Im allergic to paracetamol) and took it under medical supervision. It was only around 100mg 2-3 times a day, when the pain was too bad.
That small a dose, long term, has impaired my liver and kidney function

Unfortunately, you wont be able to take nurofen or any other NSAIDS while you are pregnant. You need to get a second opinion or go somewhere where they can do a GA on a pregnant woman

thanks for your support and information guys, it has really helped a lot. I'm no longer taking painkillers for my teeth now, just the odd panadol for lower abdominal cramping and stinging/stabbing pains which I have just found out is caused by a 6cm cyst on my left ovary - it never rains it just pours for me right now, I have the feeling karma is out to bite me right now as everything has gone awry.

If the pain flares up again I will get the top left molar out as it was casing a bit of the pain I was experiencing, the wisdom teeth I will just have to wait until August nest year to have them out under GA, as local is really not an option at all and with the way they are currently (just shells with temporary caps that chip regularly) trying to pull them out the regular way in the chair will just shatter them and leave the roots stuck in my gums and jaw, so I will have to suck it up and try to deal with the pain and only take codeine when nothing else works and keep the codeine to a maximum of 8 a day. I'll be a grumpy snarly angry b**ch who can't do much with my kids but they will have to live with it because I can't risk this baby anymore than I already have.

    Thank you again every one/
