    Migraines and Pregnancy

Just curious what people have found...
My mother has always gotten migraines but told me that she had '8 months of bliss' when she was pregnant both times (both 1 mth prem). She gets them pretty badly, as do I. On the other hand, I have read that they can become much worse during pregnancy.
I find that mine are mainly hormonal, food allergy or stress-related.
Just wondering what other migraine-sufferers found when they were pregnant?

I am a migraine sufferer and have every regular headaches as well. Since being pregnant, I have only had 2 headaches which weren't very intense at all.

And last pregnancy, I did not get one migraine at all. I hope its the same for you xx

Wow! That is good to hear.
My main concern is that when my get really bad, I won't be able to take anything other than Panadol and I may as well eat a Smartie!
    Fingers crossed! Thanks so much.

I am a migrane sufferer- but do not get them whilst i am pregnant and not until AF returns!!!

I usually get migranes at least 4 times a months and it is bliss when i am preggers and i get none!
I have had a couple of headaches, but that is it!!!

It was my concern as well before i got preggers as well. There is always a/puncture to help with migranes which is safe to use when pg!
    Good luck

I used to see a migraine/headach specialist in melb and he told me not to worry. He said there are medications he can prescribe during pregnancy. so dont worry too much

I get occasional migranes - only one or two a year but when preggers the first time it was one or two a week! my Dr gave me some stronger drugs and they helped. So far with this one i haven't had any fingerscrossed !!!

i had a 4 day headache last month and ended up in hospy cos it sent my BP up. but it wasnt a migraine. Unpregnant i get migraines every 6-8 weeks.

doc said i can take 2 panadeine every 4 hrs and panadeine forte during the night. ... but with the minor headaches i have had, about one a week, i havent done that.

i just cant bring myself to take that much medication with a baby on board. I have had one panadeine at the beinning of a headache ( i just knew it was going to be a biggun') but getting in early with the panadeine and then resting in a cool dark room and drinking lots of water all helped to squash that one before it got serious.
