    From the ever reliable wikipedia cause I'm lazy - although this list does seem fairly well put together :-)

    ome or all of the following symptoms may be present, though it is possible not to experience any symptoms:

    * Dull aching, or severe, sudden, and sharp pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen (one or both sides), pelvis, vagina, lower back, or thighs; pain may be constant or intermittent -- this is the most common symptom
    * Fullness, heaviness, pressure, swelling, or bloating in the abdomen
    * Breast tenderness
    * Pain during or shortly after beginning or end of menstrual period.
    * Irregular periods, or abnormal uterine bleeding or spotting
    * Change in frequency or ease of urination (such as inability to fully empty the bladder), or difficulty with bowel movements due to pressure on adjacent pelvic anatomy
    * Weight gain
    * Nausea or vomiting
    * Fatigue
    * Infertility
    * Increased level of hair growth
    * Increased facial hair or body hair
    * Headaches
    * Strange pains in ribs, which feel muscular
    * Bloating
    * Strange nodules that feel like bruises under the layer of skin

    Hadn't heard of the facial hair before - which may explain the moustash I woke up with a few days ago????

    Thank you!

    I only ask as I have PCOS and since I have come off implanon I have twice in the last 6 wks had really severe pain, like period pain, but to the point that I need to vomit, then it goes. It is bad pain, really bad. Haven't had a period, which is normal for me a my PCOS is quite bad, but I have had spotting, which is weird. The spotting lasted 2 weeks then stopped then the last pains I had I spotted again then it stopped.

    I am pretty confused about the pain. I was really intense then gradually stopped. Felt like period pain.

    Hmmm mine doesn't feel like period pain - more like a hot poker right in low sort of near my hip bone and it comes and goes - sometimes aches and pulls if I move too quickly. I did have one cyst that messed up my cycles like your saying got Af anywhere from every week to 56days apart that went on for nearly 6mths before I fell pg with DS and then it disappeared. Would def be going to see dr if the spotting continued if it was me.

    I did get period like cramping when pg are you ttc?

    No def not ttc...........we are finished with that. I thought it might be a big cyst but perhaps then it might just be my body trying to 'restart' after being on implanon?? I'm not sure. Have a doc appt soon anyway so am going to discuss. My doc has already checked my hormone levels again and they are really out of whack, so this is not surprising.
    Thanks for your help!

    Yep they suck! Relaised today I have been dealing with these damn things for nearly 12yrs now and I am over it ! Hope yours clears up really soon and you don't have too much trouble with them. I have been using a progesterone cream to try and balance hormones but it doesn't seem to be having mush effect for the past few months. Would love to hear if you get any tips other then being on the pill to stop them from coming back

    Did you have any other scans after the one that identified the cyst? Perhaps it's worth going back and asking?? Good luck

    JwithJ - it's very normal to see cysts on the ovary during early prg. Usually this is just where the egg was released from the ovary and subsides as the pregnancy progresses.

    If you are experiencing pain, it's probably worth a trip to your GP.

    RR - how did your scan go??? (Apart from the hottie )

    Oli's - I'd be going to the local hospital to have it checked out. You shouldn't be left in this much pain hoping it goes away. Let us know how you go, I hope everything is OK.
