i would think they would let you know beforehand if you were going to stay for awhile. Tests often take awhile to get organised. If you have to travel to see them, ask them to set up all the tests needed for the one time.
First appointment is usually asking for history, and a physical exam.
Our first appointment was as an inpatient while in the PICU and was just a basic getting history, symptoms etc and organising the required tests. From experience, with seeing many different specialists, the first appointments have always been as mentioned before. However as you are travelling if you have room to pack for a few days then it wouldn't hurt (we travel several hours and I always allow for a few days just in case.... I've been stuck in hospital several times with no change of clothes and no one close by to help... Not fun!)
I will pack extra. I think I am over stressing about it and just wait till they call and find out more. I am anxious to just get it done and hopefully get some answers
Normally I would but I'm worried it might annoy them.. They have already had my dr ring and tell them off :/ so I don't want stir the pot anymore at the moment. My gp today said to give them till Tuesday and if we haven't heard anything then to call or she will ring them
