GL babe i hope its just stress on the bone of muscle, my mum had the same thing for her shoulder n she had the shots etc and ended up requiring surgery and she was in pain etc for weeks i feel sorry for u..
i hope if it comes to this that u can work things out and get some more support from ur xh with ur lil ones..
Thanks hun, I really hope it's just Bursitis...I have no idea how to deal with that much time off work. Aggghhhh and just before Xmas.
I dont even know if I have the surgery if I have to pay for it or if it's free or what? Stupid me only has extras and not hospital cover. If it's free then I have to wait hey??

If you have the surgery in a public hospital, it will ALL be free. Some hospitals you have to pay to use the phone and/or TV. Your GP will refer you to the relevant department in the hospital (orthopedic) and you will go on a wait list to be seen in outpatients for a consult. After this, they will decide how badly you need the surgery and you will go on a waiting list. Your category (sense of urgency for the surgery) will depend on where in the list you are and therefor how quickly you go in. At least, that's how it works in Vic! But as a public patient in a public hospital, you won't pay anything.
I hope XH helps out with the kids on the day of the scan. or is there a friend who could help out? When you get there, just let them know you have to pick the kids up and see if they can't get you done quicker. We try to help out where we can. Have you called to see if they have any earlier appointments? Or ask to be called in earlier if they have a cancellation. Of course, if it's being done in a public hospital and there is an emergency, that could put your times out. There may be a fee for the scan even if it's in a public hospital. Do you have a Health Care Card? Just call and ask if they will bulk bill the scans.
So a public hosp will make me wait...I can't imagine i'd be that high on the list because i'm not in mega pain...but paying for it would be super exxy right??
I dont know really, everyone has kids or works so it's a cruddy time to do the pick up. He's just going to have to, unless he has something on. I can but ask... When I spoke to the lady on the phone she said 11.40 was the earliest app on Fri and any other day they aren't in ASC so i'd have to pick them up even earlier (2.30). She put me on hold for about 2 mins then came back and said they couldnt' garentee i'd be out in time but I reckon if I hang around and look miserable then they might squeeze me in earlier!!
It's at a Qscan place so not a hosp but she said to call the day before to see if there are cancellations...i'll call every day and bug them lol.
I have a HCC and it's going to be free yay! The only thing i've ever had to pay for is an MRI but wont' have to have one of those again thank goodness.
The fees for private depends on where and who. You could pay a surgeon privately to have it done in a public hospital. So you should only be paying the surgical fees and not for accomodation or theatre time or anesthetics which all have to be paid for privately. It would depend on the surgeon's fees. I couldn't even guess how much. Sorry.
