    I wouldn't even think of doing that
    i have heard of it being done soo many times.
    especially when someone changes a medication we go bring them in we will dispose of them. "oh no don't worry i put them down the sink.. " 8)

    Don't put them down the sink!!! Antibiotics esp down the sink contaminate the environment and lead to more strains of anti-biotic resistant bacteria out there.

    Take them to your pharmacy. If there is a local organisation which collects and distributes them to overseas aid organisations, the pharmacy will know, and if not they will be safely incinerated.

    Can pharmacies dispose of sharps containers as well? I didn't think to ask them when I took mum's medication in.
