I got some dermaid cream to put on. Have been bathing in dettol all day. A cold compress helps soothe the pain. Should I be putting a barrier on over the dermaid?? If so, I have bepathen, pawpaw and sudocream. Which is the best one to use with the dermaid?

I'm no doctor, but i'd prefer pawpaw if it were myself. It's a little more natural. Just my personal thoughts. Good luck hun

From my own experience I would be reluctant to be using too many products, especially any anti fungals without a proper diagnosis. I tried so many different things, each one would work for a short while then seemed to make it worse.

:yeahthat: I agree, don't go using antifungals until you have a proper diagnoses. You can actually build up a resistance to stuff like canisten, unfortunately. Also try bathing the area in a salt water solution, with a few drops of cider vinegar and a small amount of crushed garlic. Sounds weird, but worked wonders for me. Hope it eases up soon, it's so uncomfortable and icky

PumpkinZulu - you just reminded me of an easy natural remedy for candita (the thrush fungus). I swallow a whole clove of garlic everyday for about a week. it's the safest thing to take when you're pregnant, and it helps to give the immune system a kick in the backside too. I just did a lot of garlic a couple of months ago, and my friend who's 6mths pregnant is doing hers now at the request of our biochemist. It makes you smell a little like garlic, and (TMI warning) it makes u fart a lot as well as going to poop a lot more... but it really does work. If it didnt, our biochemist wouldn't give it to us.

gosh it's not easy being female is it?
