I hope the results are all clear for you hun

I actually read your thread the other day but didnt have time to reply but it has been on my mind so much. I feel really embarrassed about ignoring something as serious as skin cancer with my own body and I am actually so grateful that you posted about this.

I have had a freckle/mole (I dont now what it is) on the back of my upper arm and the other week I noticed it looked like a mozzie bite that had been scratched off and it actually started to bleed when I scratched at it. It is taking ages to heal

I have been playing ostrich (with my head in the sand) thinking maybe it was a mozzie bite and maybe if I ignore it, then it will go away but I am almost 95% certain it was a freckle/mole before so I have taken a couple of photos and looked at some examples on the net of similar spots and it looks like this:

I have called the skin cancer clinic and have an appointment at 12 tomorrow. I am hoping its just a basil cell one but at the same time, I am a bit scared of what they may say.

Anyway I dont mean to hijack or anything. I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am that you have made me aware of the importance and seriousness of getting these things checked out.

Be sure to let us know how you go.

hun dont worry its so easy to bury your head in the sand

Like i said before i only did it because i am assisting drs cut these things out on a daily basis ad i give people the bad news

from what i see it may be a BCC, they may do a biopsy which is a little hole punch send that away and when they know results cut out a larger slice.

i pray for you its nothing more.
mine was black and irregular and had 3 shades of brown adn black in it, so typical Melanoma

    will wait for official results.
and to top it off i have had AF for 2 weeks and lots of clotting and black blood.

Thanks hun, I am really starting to learn the importance of checking your skin regularly and of course protecting it from the sun. Both my mum and dad, sister and grandparents have had skin cancers removed. We have fair skin so we are careful but skin damage can occur so easily. DF came home burnt on his ears the otehr day and I was so cranky. I asked if he wanted divits cut out of his ears!

It must be awful to have to ring people and tell them bad news like that. Have they told you how long you have to wait for the results? Really hope it isnt a melanoma and that AF stops soon.

    GOT RESULTS

well i got my DR at work to ring up and get them, as the other doc took all day to return a call.

    and it ISN"T Melanoma.

it was a Regressing Lentiginous Junctional Naevus. which is non malignant, but is the stage that can turn malignant if you let it go to long..

so i got an 8mm scar but i'm clear of any yucky stuff.
now to get checked 6 monthly from now on in case of anything popping up quickly again in an area i can't see.

Thank you again for all your support.
and i'm glad i can bring good news
