How are you and the kids feeling this morning? This year seems to have produced some really funky illnesses that don't manifest like they are *supposed* to so its likely that its a plain old tummy bug thats just giving you the run around. I know when I've been sick with a bug that whatever I last ate will repeat on me for ages so maybe its the same for you with the egg?

Well I'm at work this morning - had more toast this morning which seems to be good. Googled eggy burps and giardia came up as a possibility, eek!

If I'm feeling better should I still go to the dr?? Still burping egg...

I found that I burped egg whenever I drank anything. I just had loads of small sips of water until it all went away. Hope you're feeling better real soon.

did you manage to get to the GP Ocean Princess?

gastro is so debilitating, i hope you get some relief soon. i wonder if the eggy burps are SULPHUR coming from your system, not eggs as such.

    get well soon hon.

Haven't been to the GP yet. I keep feeling fine against not worrying about it... Felt awful this morning but seem ok now. It's really weird..

OP I had a tummy infection years ago where I'd be okay for a couple of days then I'd end up with the runs again, then okay, then not, ITMS. I needed to go on ABs to get rid of it, as in the end I dropped 8 kgs over three weeks.

It had similar indications to other infections, I ended up with almost green diarrhoea in the end. But just the fact that I couldn't seem to get rid of it was enough. It was quite bad at a couple of points though.

I couldn't go on the anti biotics as they're not safe whilst breast feeding. It took me about 6 weeks to be finally done with it. I haven't had any problems for 5 weeks now - thankfully. It did come and go a few times during that 6 weeks. Sometimes it was just the diahrrea other times there was vomiting, but always the gassy, egg burps.
I hope it's over for you soon hun xx

Lisa that's one of the reasons I haven't raced to the dr... I'm still feeding too and reckon they'd be limited in what they could do.

But six weeks of this? Gah. Couldn't do it.

It depends on the antibiotics - plenty are ok while feeding - I had to take ABs to get rid of a stomach bug had in UK when DD was 5 months - I wasn't keen but then having a sick mum wasn't doing her much good either so as were in the ok category I took them - and cleared it up nice and quick.

Try Rodney Whyte at Monash - I think it's unlikely that the ABs are not okay while bfing. His no is in the bfing section.
