bel78.....i would be asking your gp to do an u/s to find out why you have the sever pain and heavy bleeding etc.....the u/s will also see if you have any lesions anywhere that shouldn't be there, any inflammed cysts near or around your clip sites.....it won't however show up the endo if you think you may have it, only surgery will show that.....i have had 2 surgeries so far for the endo and trust me this is something you don't want to have.....who are you planning to go see about a TR ?.....best of luck on your TR journey.....cheers kiya
Great news Jodie!! Hope it all works well & with your positive attitude I'm sure it will!!!!!
Hi Bel & welcome. I had my TR done in Newcastle can't exactly remember how much it cost about $6000 I think. But I was having all the pain & suffering before it too.& my first AF after the was was completely normal & have been ever since. Good Luck with it.
hey dearmum and onemore, i had really wanted to do ivf, but dont think its going to happen. I am really sad and so want to have a baby so bad... but its usually the same story were you really desire something you can't have it. I don't remember being so wantin when i had no trouble falling pregnant. I guess it shows never to take anything for granted.
bel78 welcome.. and ask away.. we all did it. yes it is a horrible thing having a tubal ligation and they should be stopped.i had seriously heavy bleeding and bad periods for 2 years after the t/l and starting researching like you. I unfortunately had my tubes cut and tied and even though they have been reversed, it has not worked that well for me. it is only for the reason that mine were cut and tied that i had the problem. You have much higher success rates with clips. I had to pay 10k to have mine done in sydney with dr cooper but i know that in qld now it is becoming rebateable under medicare. I think they have assigned the number, not to sure. So i have started the path of ivf but not much success yet. only because when i was supposed to start, i had another ectopic pregnancy. Don't be worried by that though because it all depends on your tubes and how much is left of them.
hey storm, loving that belly... iwill carry it for a while if you want....lololol if only we could do that for each other...
oh luv......i'm sorry to hear that things haven't worked out for you....don't let it get you down......maybe you need to think about yourself for a bit then things will fall back into place and you will be preg again either by IVF or naturally......cheers kiya
Hi LuvIt really is a sad lesson in life isnt it,we should never have had the B*****Y TL done and why would the docs interfere about having it done GRRRR.I know i would of possibly had six kids by now
As Kiya said dont let it all get to ya,this is going to be all OUR year,i have a good feeling that we are all going to be so happy this year.
Hi Bel78If i was in your situation i would be having the TR done!im lucky i guess that i have had no problems since having my TL done only i have put on about 10kgs....lol
Hi Kiya...What did the docs say about your AF?any thing they can do about it?
wishing you all the best
Hi Storm....Babe you look great being pregnant,do you get m/s?
Hi Onemore....Babe not long now,do you have everything ready?
Hi Mumof6....Babe how was the holiday? Is Breah walking yet?Ok i need to ask lol when the next one happening????
hi i finally made it. as i said im trying to find out info on getting my tubes put back together basically and what the success rate is when they have been cut and tied and if its possible to go thru the public hospital system in qld any advice would be helpful
katt....i'm in qld also....as far as i know there is no public hospital in qld that will do a reversal....i tried to go public a few years back, but the only hospital at the time that was doing it was no longer taking any new patients....i am now going with IVF as there is a better success rate, well that is my opinion as well.....i can no longer have a TR as my tubes are ehavily damaged due to endometriosis and being butchered pretty much by the dr that did my TL....good luck on your TR journey....kiya
hi kiya thank you also for your reply how much are you lookin at for your ivf? i thought ivf is only cheaper if you have private health insurance which i dont. good luck with your ivf, katt
hi katt......i am going through Westmead down in NSW even though i live up here in Qld.....to do IVF up here in queensland it is starting price of $6,500 and that is not including your anaeathetist and hospital stay etc. these are extra and could cost up to and including $1,500 depending on where you are going etc....doing it at Westmead is cheaper even after adding airfares for both and extras.....i am doing an IVF/ICSI split doing half of the collect eggs with IVF thent he other half with ICSI (one egg, one sperm), and doing this cost a little more than IVF.....good luck on your journey.....kiya
Hi Kiya.........how are you? Thank you again for replying. I'm thinking like you and heading towards the idea of ivf. tho if i can ask a few questions if you dont mind?...............Once you decide to go ivf how long does it actually take to do the consultations or even get an appointment? Is there a waiting period or what? sorry to ask so many questions i'm just trying to find out as much as i can and i dont know who else to ask. thank you katt
Katt....I would be glad to answer some of your question. Here is there website to have a look at WestMead Fertility Centre
*Westmead is cheap cause they run a non profit program and they only charge the out of pocket expences.
*First you must call them and they will send you the information pack.
*There will be a list of fertility specialist that you can call to make an appointment to see in the pack. You must take any ultrasounds blood work results etc. You can normally get into see one within the month. Dr Ming Hng seems to any have a 4 weeks wait hes great.
*Once you have seen him and and got the ok from him he will then refer your file to westmead.
*So from the first time you see him to when you get your pregnancy results is around about 12weeks(well it was for me).
To speed things up its important for you and your partner to have a full blood count done and a sperm count for your partner and take all the results with you to your first appointment. I know hes not the problem but they will want it to be done.
Good luck with your appointment tomorrow
Em
thanks for answering my questions, doctor didn't say much she's referred me to a gyno to get his opinion which isn't til the end of next month. tho she seems to think reversal is the way to go then i told her about westmead and then changed her mind. my partner rang them yesterday and left name and address for info pack to be sent out. so i'm hoping that i have the info from them before i go and see the gyno more money that i have to pay out just for an opinion.
another q if you don't mind..............i'm classed as a high risk pregnancy does that effect the doctors opinion on doing the ivf at all?
katt....i'm in qld also....as far as i know there is no public hospital in qld that will do a reversal....i tried to go public a few years back, but the only hospital at the time that was doing it was no longer taking any new patients....i am now going with IVF as there is a better success rate, well that is my opinion as well.....i can no longer have a TR as my tubes are ehavily damaged due to endometriosis and being butchered pretty much by the dr that did my TL....good luck on your TR journey....kiya

hi mumofsix thank you for replying. i'm really unsure which way to go. i see my doc on monday morning about the posibility of a reversal tho im seriously thinkin ivf, tho how can ivf be so cheap???
HI mumofsix!!!
Kiya,
I have been busy with my 5 children they keep you running around that is for sure.
my son aged 7 finally has an appointment to see if he has adhd as he is on the go full time...
my daughter aged 4 os off to kindergarten next year and my eldest off to year 10 next year.
we have been pretty busy with family problems my nephew a christian and regular church attender aged 17 abused my youngest daughter while her mum babysat one day for me and I went off over that big time.
he is in jail and told the police everything and now I have to wait for his sentence as he was charged with 13 counts he told police he had got to our other children too but we are not allowed to ask them so we wait till after court and they will tell us.
17 and his life is over its sad but as a mum of the victim I really hope he stays in there.
anyway that was months ago and our family has councelling and its going well but we no longer get babysitters anymore our trust is gone.
you never know anyone like you think you do.
I had to put ivf off at that stage as we could not cope with what had happined but now the dust has settled its time to get back and try for a 2010 baby.
how have you been???
