Hey Storm hope all is well and your getting some rest. Hope bub is being good and sleep some so mum can sleep to
Hey carma, I'm glad you found us too. I had my reversal done by Dr cooper as well in Sydney but it cost me thousands. The reason, though, was because one of my tubes was diagonsed as a hydrosalpinx ( were fluid swells in the tube and stretches it)-this was from my ligation. I think maz has the right answer for you-especially if you are in Melbourne. My sister had clips done, and she was able to have it reversed in the public system as well. I hope you succeed!!! Keep chatting with us!!
Hey maz, Hope things are going well for you... I luv your photo's volyett is gorgeous!
Hey Em, My c/s wasn't planned-but wasn't a emergency either. The doctors confused...first they said that i would be fine, and then they told me I was having a c/s. then i was started on the induction drip and because i was so upset, as i did not sleep all night, she pulled the drip from my arm and said i was not capable of proceeding with the drip. This is why I am so angry at the hospital. I am glad that you handle you c/s okay, just for me, they shouldn't have done it-cause it wasn't necessary. I am just so annoyed because i was to weak and they cornered me-to save their time. I doubt I'm the only one either.:)
Thanks Maz I'll try ringing royal womens tommorrow. Did they do the op. via laparoscopy? Mum of 5, amazing how you managed to get Dr Cooper to do the op. for much less $$$$. Was it because of the Hospital you went to & did you have to wait a long time.?? My major problem is lack of time I'm almost 38 I'm desperate to get it done hopefully within the next 3 months.am i dreaming? I know i'm full of so many questions. Thanks so much already for your help.
Hi guys, Angel is great, she is a sleepy head like Zac, so i get to sleep all night still! When she does wake, Daddy gets her a bottle.Woo hoo!! She is having boobie juice & bottle, coz after the transfusion my milk went away & it doesn't fill her up, don't know whether I'll ever get a good supply, but not too worried.
Mumof5, she was a vag birth, but after I hemorrhaged & had to have an op & transfusion, but getting better now.
Hi Carma, welcome!! You'll get heaps of support here!!
good to hear from you storm. Angel jsut osunds so yummy and good. Hows little Zac going? wont be needing the name ellie, have thought of a different name - Willow. Seems like im staying with the natural theme. lol.
carma - the op is a cut like a c/s. they have to take the tube out, cut away the damaged section, sew it together then pump die through it to see if there's any leaks. Its a painfull op mate but so worth it. I fell pg nearly straight away and I fell again 2 months after having Vy (I m/c) being looking at October as the earliest date to start for #4 if Jed lets me.lol
Hi guys thanks for the info maz. Good luck for October 07, 4 is a great number! Hi Storm congrats on the new baby. hope all is well. Sounds like your doing ok now. Luv children hope your feeling ok & your wait won't be too long. Talk soon.
carma - did you ring the royal womens yet? oushy b'arcth arent I lol
Gee Storm you have had a real rough time by the sounds of things. But hey you got the best prize of all,you own little Angel. Your one very lucky lady
Hi Carma.... The RPA Hospital is a public hospital thats why it was so cheap because Dr cooper does do work out of there.I think i waited 6 to 8weeks. I had my tubes cut and a piece taken out when i had my c/s with my last baby. When i had my reversal they made a small cut in my belly button one on my pubic line and one either side of my tummy, maybe 1cms in lenghth very small, all micro surgery.Yeah it was a laparscopy. Then they ran the dye thru my tubes once they had put them back together.hehe i was wondering why i had all this blue stuff down there:D. If you dont ask questions you wont get answers. Just jump in feet first and get it under way and then only time will tell.
Hey Maz i cant believe they did your reversal that way,i had no idea they had to take the tube out and stuff you poor thing, they didnt do that with me or Clara. They just did it all with cameras and tiny key holes. Thats heaps crazy.
gob your so lucky mate. I was in agony for 2 weeks afterwards. The drugs they gave me reacted badly with my body and i honestly dont remember the first week and a bit. BUT I just have to look at my beautiful little girl and I forget it, even if she's teething really badly at the moment and has just stopped screaming for 3 hours. Im that protective of her, that I couldn't handle her crying when we first got home and would cry with her. Im alright now, but I never had that with the boys. Im so hanging to have number 4, Je dis still in 2 minds, but I know I'll win. ;)
Hey everyone, Yeh that was how Dr woolcot did the reversals as well. I was a bit upset at the thought of another scar. I only have 4 keyholes and recovered so well we drove from sydney to townsville 1 day after having the op. (2290km of inland roads.)
Carma, hope everything goes well for you.....
Maz, do you use bonjella for vyoletts gums?
storm, i am sorry to hear about you haemorrage-glad you and your angel are okay.
 we always win. Aww the poor little darln. My little one is 10 1/2 months and hes got 6 now.Ive been lucky with my kids they have all been good at teething. I had alot of pain after my op too, more then my c/s i was very shocked at how sore i was. I think my mission in life was to just be a mum, weather it be my own or foster or adoption. I just love it,they do drive me crazy at times but there mission in life is to make mine hell  I'm sure of it. Maybe not adoption cause its just way to hard.Ive done so much research on it and WOW you like almost have to be the virgin Mary to qualify for a child. They all need a loving family but the guide line are just to far out.
mumof5 - i always wondered about adoption. I remember a neighbour who waited 10 years to finally get a child. i was totally shocked how painful tthe op was afterwards. my c/s with vy was nothing. i had no pain what so ever, the doctors couldnt believe it. it was like i went to sleep and woke up with a baby. i had her at 4am and was showered by 6.
luvchildren - my kids are bad teethers. i gave vy bonjella and she gobbled it down the bugger. i rubbed it in and she wanted more. it doesnt help that its been 40 plus degrees here the last 2 days, ahhhh yucky.
Hi everyone! Hope all is well. Maz sorry hear your op was so bad. But you are just so lucky with the outcome! Vy just sounds gorgeous! Can't say I've had much problems with teething. Hope the weather cools down a touch. I rang royal womens says the wait will be approx 1 year with a first appointment in April..Don't think I can wait that long. Have made a couple of other appointments with other drs. Theres only so much they can tell you over the phone. 1st appointment is end of Jan with the Dr who I just found out actually did the clamps. Am not really keen on seeing him as I don't feel I was really counselled properly at the time and by the sounds of it doesn't seem like he does many reversals. All I want is to hurry up and see someone who specialises in this area and get it over & done with. Everyone seems to still be away on holiday. Got a couple more calls to make on monday when other drs open. Don't want to waste time seeing too many or those who don't give much hope. Hopefully i won't have to see more than 3 to get the answer i want. Keep yous posted...
carma - id still keep my name down at the royal womens if i was you. Its always there then if the others dont pull through. My appointment was in April aswell, I think it was the 12th. YOu have to have blood tests, your DH has to have a sperm test to see if you still fertile engough to go through with the op. Be ready for it. Then I had to go down 2 weeks before the op just for a briefing again. goodluck and please let us know how you go. My thoughts are with you and ive got everything crossed.
Hey Maz its not really so much of the waiting time for a international child, the time frame is about 24months. But you have to be married for so many years and your only allowed 4 kids at home already and so on and so on etc. Its crap if you ask me. You should see these little babies on the net, they are so cute but they look so sad and all they need is a family and a stable home and some love.
how stupied is that, who cares how many kids yourve got, the more kids, the more love that, that child is gonig to have. How many years do you have to be married for then? How the hell do the celebraties get these kids so quickly, half of them aren't bloody married! Id take a kid like that any day if it ment getting them out of the orphanges that are full and giving them heaps of love, hugs and kisses. My kids would love it. I wouldn't get a child like that, not with 3 already then and having a mortage up to my ears. lol oh well, looks like I have to do it the old fashionked way....JED.....
MAZ-GREAT TO SEE MISSION CONTROL HAS A DATE FOR TAKE OFF...... HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THAT MOVIE FROM DAVID ATTENBOROUGH-THE HUMAN BODY? GREAT INSPIRATIONAL MOVIE. TEETHING IS PAINFUL FOR BOTH BUB AND MUM... HAVE YOU HAD A GO AT FROZEN BANNANAS? ISN'T IT FUNNY THAT WE FORGET THINGS SO EASILY..... I DO REMEMBER SOME BAD NIGHTS WITH MY CHILDREN TEETHING BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE BEEN FILED. ITS GREAT THAT YOU C/S WAS A BREEZE WITH VYOLETT, CAUSE I MINE WAS A HARROWING EXPERIENCE... I COULD SEE ON THE STAINLESS STEEL VENTS ABOVE ME.... EVERYTHING THEY DID.
CARMA, HANG IN THERE I WAS REALLY WANTING THIS TO HAPPEN TOO. I KNOW THERE WILL BE SOMEONE WHO WILL HELP YOU... DON'T GIVE UP HOPE:D DR COOPER IS ON HOLIDAYS UNTIL MONDAY.-I AM STILL WAITING ON PHOTOS FROM MY OP AND SO IS EMMA.
Yeah you are so right, but try and tell old John Howard that. These little children just want a place to call home and have some sence of security in there life. You have to be married for two years and if you have been divorced and then remarried you have to wait 5 years. Some countries you have to be at least 25 years old and some you have to be 30. Also Australians can only Adopt from China,Lithuania,Mexico,Philippines,Hong Kong,Chile,Sri Lanka,Fiji,Colombia,South Korea,Ethiopia,Taiwan, Thailand and India. There are so many kids in America and lots of babies in Guatomala and Rusia but they dont except them here. Stupid huh,the person that made up these laws and rules must have been male. My heart goes out to the people that dont have kids and are on the waiting list. They would have one if the laws were different.
I know it has been along time since I have posted in here.
Congratulation Storm on the birth of your daughter Angel. I hope that you will have a speedy recovery.
I have a couple of question to ask you all. You can choose not answer it if you like.
Did you get proper councilling before you had the ligation? Did you get your concerns fobbed off after the procedure was done? Did they offer you councilling after having the ligation? Did they think that you were depressed for wanting a reversal done?
Luvchildren, where did you get your reversal done in Sydney?
I am still wanting to get my reversal done but I am having trouble getting a referral for it so it looks like I will be heading down the path of IVF. I am serious thinking about getting a loan to have the reversal done. I will let you know what I end up doing. As the thought of having the clips in me still is eating away at me(not really the words I was after).
Take Care of yourselves
Ang
Luvchildren - oh yes its all missioins go. Love that movie mate. Nikolaus sat down and watched it with us, it was easier than explaining everything and he got borded after about 20 mins.
mum of 5 - god that $hits me, were all pink on the inside so to speak but how racists is our government!!!!
Ang - My god woman I cant believe that its been so hard for you to get a referral. My thoguths and prays are with ya. Oj as for your questions here goes
I had no councilling before i had my tubes done, I properlly wouldn't have had them done other wise.
My concerns were delt with and all questions I had wer answered by the wonderfulstaff at the royal womens just before my op and after.
They didnt think I was depressed but understood why we wanted them done in the first place. The doctoer in melbourne were wonderful and were totally disgusted that we weren't councilled by my local hospital here in shepparton prior getting the op. I honestly think it should be a must have so to speak prior to any sterilization.
Hi ya storm honey - hope that little girl is being good for you.
hello to everyone else
HEY ANG- I HAD MY REVERSAL DONE AT ST VINCENTS HOSPITAL THROUGH DR COOPER. I TOO, HAD NO COUNSELLING AND HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THE HOSPITAL THAT DID MY LIGATION TO ABOUT THE FACT I DID NOT RECIEVE THE PROPER COUNSELLING PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE. I ALSO QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE AFTEREFFECTS AND THESE ISSUES AND WAS TOLD, IT WAS MY FAULT. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS HAVING THIS DONE, THROUGH HELP FROM GOD AND AM SO HAPPY I HAD IT DONE. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. DON'T GIVE UP AND FIND ANY DOCTOR THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE REFERRAL!!!
MAZ, IT IS A GREAT MOVIE.... PITY WE CAN'T SEE OURSELVES WHEN WE NEED TO LIKE THAT....IT WOULD MAKE IT EASIER:lol:
EM, HOW IS THINGS GOING?
Hi all. Thanks for your support Maz..I will keep the appt. at Royal womens...just in case. Am hoping it'll all be over and done with by then. Thanks Luv Children, Dr Cooper is on my list of Drs to ring on Monday.. So far I've Got 4 appointments between Jan & Feb. Hopefuully i won't have to attend all 4. I'm hoping after the 1st couple i'll find someone. Ang I'm so sorry you still cant get a referral. I think my GP still thinks i'm in denial about the reversal. I had to ask her a few times. Even after that she could'nt give me any names of any drs who specialised in reversals. All I had at the time was one drs name. I'm going back on tommorrow to get another couple of referrals. In the end My Gp says perhaps this is the path i have to go thru in order to realise i cant/wont have any more children. I cant stand the thoughts of having the clips in me either. I reckon it must be one of the most unnatural things inthe world...for me at least. One real lesson I've learnt from this experience so far is no one really truly knows whats best for me, not even the drs, only I do...We've just gotta keep saying that to ourselves and trust our own instincts. Their usually right! Ang keep searching till you find a dr who perhaps is confident enough not to go down the IVF path...I'll be searching with you. Luv Children , In the end, i too realise, I made the final decison to have my tubes tied..stupid as it was. I guess now its about I guess correcting the decison & gaining some control over my life again. Thanks all for listening...Great to have all this support.....Talk soon
Hey Ang, i went to a GP i didnt know to get my referral and he gave it to me no questions asked,i didnt want to go back to my doctor cause i didnt want him to think i was wacko for having the reversal. I went with Dr.Cooper for my op and it was done at the RPA as its a pubic hospital and i was a private uninsured patient it cost me $3000 for the doctor and $269 for the hospital in total. I didnt go to a private hospital to have it done cause the price would have doubled. Good luck with it all. Hey Clara yeah im not to bad....... Hey Girls!!!!
Thanks for the name of Dr Cooper I have emailed them and they have given me a number to ring so I see it as a step in the right direction.
I am absolutely amazing that most of us were not given councilling before hand. I was given it after the fact and the doctor gave me a script for Zoloft because they thought that I was depressed and that was the reason I wanted a reversal. I never took it as I knew I was not depressed.
The hospital where I had it done have not helped in any way with finding out how to get it reversed as they just that if I want it reversed I will have to find the doctor myself. About the only information they gave me was that I had the Filshie clip put in.
Mum of 5, how long did you have to wait after getting into Dr Cooper and getting it reversed and also how did you go about getting it reversed in a public hospital. Sorry about all the questions.
Luv your children, this is a bit of a personal question but how did you go about getting the money together.
Carma, I am sorry that you are having the same problems as I am having.
Maz, I hope that you are well. Already starting to plan for number 4
Storm, I hope that you have recovered and that everything is going well.
Ang
Hey Ang,i think it was only 6 or 8wks after my first appointment with Dr Cooper that i had my reversal. After i had seen the doctor i went out to reception and Kathy that works there gave me all the options i had and all the price lists, the RPA hospital was one of the options and the cheapest so i took it. I had my op in the morning and i was home for dinner. May i ask how many kids you have? and how old are you?
hi everyone; can i say that the reason why i had my tubes done in the first place that ex husband of mine did'nt want anymore. so he told me to have the op. i did'nt have a say in the matter. so not long after the op he wanted me to get dressed so he can take me home. my youngest daughter was not even a year old. and not long after that he goes and has another child to someone else. and four more to another person. i never had any counelling whatsoever. i was never asked if i wanted any. i am so glad that i got the reversal done.
how are you dea? hav eyou recovered well?
I think th eworst part of planning number 4 is trying to find a blasted name? lol
yeah i'm fine just waiting to see if af arrives. did it the other night and afterwards i got this pain on my right side. i have a boys name picked out allready but the girls name i am having trouble with.
Gee Dea thats all pretty rough, sounds like you have been thru some tough times.Ive been thru some pretty bad times aswell but im over all that now.How long have you been trying for now???? I really dont like this waiting game
i have been trying now for seven months. and storm how are you and your little angel doing?
we're the same Dea - boys names will be Mateauz Joseph and we haven't really decided on a girls, I liked WIlloe but thats to much like Wilhlem and I like Bonnee, we'll see.
Never mind Dea, it will happen soon enough, it took us 12 months for Zaccie. Angel is going well ,finally waking on her own now, she was sleeping 6 hours between feeds, but now she is going 4, night time she is still having the big sleeps, but every second night she is unsettled for a few hours. Urgh!!!!
Maz Willoe is a beautiful name & not like Wilhelm at all, but I reckon your next one will be a boy :)
Mumof5 how are things going for you? I'm really out of the loop ATM, so bear with me.
Hey Storm i was looking at your home page and you have a beautiful family, one day i will work out how do a home page myself. Hehe im over trying already i feel like a peice of meat, getting the meat mallet every night  . Maybe im trying to hard, im due for my period this weekend so we will see what happens. I keep getting these like period pains here there and everywhere in my cycle and i dont have my period at the time and i have no idea why im getting them
Gee Dea it been 3mths for me now and I'm getting discouraged. I know these things take time but i just keep thinking that its never going to happen cause of what the doctors say. I know i have 5 healthy children already but i guess I'm greedy and i just want one more..
I know how you must feel, mumof5, I used to say to DH it's all pointless, you're just floggin' a dead horse!! :) he he he Thanks for looking at my home page too & your lovely for saying they are all beautiful too. I will add some of Angel soon, I just need to fart ass around & resize some, very annoying!!
HEY MAZ, GREAT PHOTOS OF VYOLETT-SHE IS GORGEOUS. HOW IS SHE WITH HER TEETHING?
HEY DEA-GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN- HOPE YOU ARE OKAY, I STILL HAVE YOU IN MY PRAYERS.
HEY STORM, I HOPE SHE GOES BACK TO 6 HOURS FOR YOU SOON..... MY 5TH BABY DIDN'T LIKE SLEEPING AND MADE MY LIFE  BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME...
