Hi Ray, i take tablets 3 a day for 5 days on day 2 to day 5 of my cycle. I went to the specialist today and he is starting me on the pill when i get my next period ready for my first IVF cycle
hello ladies
i have some news, hubs and i have our appointment in august to see the ivf clinic in geelong and IF everything is fine and we have the money up to date when can try about 5 or 6 weeks later YEAH
hi mumof5 thats great i'm very happy for you
I'm a mum of four, three from a previous marriage. I too got a tubal (at my XH's insistence) becaue I also 'kept getting pregnant'. I had a reversal that failed, and I went on to have 8 IVF/FET cycles before conceiving my son. I am also the moderator in the LTTTC forums, and I'm sorry that I missed you posting in there. You are very welcome to come back to find support there. It is there for all IVFers, not just first time mums, but those with secondary infertiliy too. I'd like to think that perhaps it was a mis-communication on both parts.
Hi everyone, Im new to this site but really needed someone who is in the same position as me to talk to. I will start from the begining so you all can get up to speed, hope I dont bore you to much!!!
I am married and have 2 beautiful sons aged 8 and 9, had my tubes tied in 2003 aged 23 (was a good idea at the time) in 2004 started regreting our decision and after much soul searching decided to have tubal reversal op. Had the operation on 28 June 2006
and so far no luck. Just wondered how many of you ladies have succesful stories to tell.
I do!! I had mine in 2003 & it took me 12 months to conceive Zaccie. then when he was 9 months old I fell pregnant with Angel.
I've had 2 since my op & we are thinking about another which will make 6.
Sometimes I think your body needs to " get in order" before it can cope again.
Good luck, if your op was successful, then it's only a matter of time. Have you had a HSG done to check your tubes?
storm, so true lol
kjs, its not really that bad. i drove from sydney to townsville 2 days after the operation. if they say the cut was good, it means where they cut along the tube. hopefully things will be good for you. have they said they will open you up? i had mine done with the laprascopy.
Hi Storm,
I have been having iregular af`s since the op and have just recently had o and thyroid tests to see if that may be the problem and they all came back normal, my GP sugested I wait a couple more months and track af closly if not pg then look at having tubal patency(not sure if spelling is correct but you get my drift) test. It`s all just so frustrating as you can imagine. Op was all fine and done the dye thing, at time of op both tubes were open so will just wait and see. It`s great to hear some have the desired result, please any more happy endings would love to hear from you.
Hi Onemore,
i had the dye done at the time of my op too and they were both open and good but a couple of months after my op i asked to have another one done again. They were blocked and they managed to unblock one at that time i had it done. I also started having my af all over the place after my op and i went to a specialist. He put me on Clomid to make them regular and to help ovulation and there back to normal now.
Hi mumof5,
Iv`e been to see my GP as i said before and had a few tests done which all came back normal, I think my GP is maybe a bit to relaxed and thinks I should wait a few more months and see what happens. I have been in contact with one of the nurses I had at time of op and she sugested I have the tubal patency test once 12 months are up(thats only a couple of weeks away) and have it done at Melbourne Royal Womens Hospital where I had the op, I think I will do that soon. My cousin keeps telling me I should try clomid, I`d be happy to if only to get af regular again, its such a downer when af doesn`t come and you start to get your hopes up only for her to arrive a couple of weeks later, It really drives me crazy and the emotional side of it is also yuk!!
I didn't want to reply because I'm not a TR success story, but wanted to say that yes, it definitely is worth you getting another tubal patency test if you haven't concieved in a year.
I had to have one done, I think it was about 9 months later too, the dye had to be pushed through several times before it went all the way through. So I think that having it done again helped clear them, cos there could have been some scar tissue blocking them.
Sushee- please don`t hesitate to reply and give give your opinion and thoughts as every bit of info helps, positive or negative. I have found there to be not a lot of information or first hand knowledge out there about this situation and I would love to hear what others in the same position have to say.
Storm- I think maybe I`ll contact the Melbourne Royal and make an appointment for myself to have the dye put through, Iv`e heard it can give you a bit of a weird feeling.
Thanks ladies for the replies.
Hi Sushee..... I read your story not long after i joined Belly. Your jorney was so touching it made me cry. I guess i too am in the same boat you were and i hope i get the same results you did.
one more, hi i too have my reversal done in december 2006. i had the patency checked in march to fall pregnant in may with an ectopic pregnancy. I am a christian and prayed that they would take the tube i just spent 8k to fix. it ended up being on the outer fimbrae. I won't be having another one as i have given my problem to God, but if you get the patency done as everyone says- it can clear the scar tissue.
em, how the clomid going? have you had to do anything else?
hi mumof5,
I`m sure there are places here I could have the procedure done but if I go to Melbourne it a good excuse to visit my family over there, will see what the next couple of months bring.
The Dr`s keep telling me its early days yet and stress may be a factor(and also the dreaded trying too hard) the past year has just been full on. We lived in Kununurra WA last year(for the year) in that time I had to fly to Melb for the op then leave my Mum and sisters and head back to WA. Then we decided to head back to Tassie in Dec 06 to start our own business which to say the least has been hectic!! Stayed with the inlaws for 2 months while waiting for the tennants lease to finnish then move back into our house, then trying to fall pg while all this is going on.So I guess you could say it`s been pretty stressful.
