What is this??? What's going on??? (TMI warning)

For the last week or so I've been having "spasms" down there....

It's not what you think... they aren't nice spasms at all.

The spasms occur deep inside (I think it's my uterus) and are incredibly uncomfortable. It only happens when I'm sitting down (in my office or in the car). The spasms aren't painful, just niggling but they are accompanied by a sharp pain on my left side (maybe my ovary?). You know when you get a twitch in your eye or your calf muscle spasms?? It's like that but inside.

I have absolutely no idea what's happening. Should I be going to the doctor?

Sorry I don't have a medical answer for this. But if it hurts bad enough, it is worth getting checked out. Have you thought about getting a pre-TTC check up done, and mentioning this to the doc while you are there? Good luck and I hope it is nothing serious!

No idea Amy - very odd though. It would be worth getting it checked out, if for no other reason than your own peace of mind.

There is no major pain - the sharp pain on my left side is only for a second and then it dulls. It doesn't send me keeling over or anything.

It just feels so bl00dy weird! Something must be up - muscles wouldn't spasm in there without a reason surely.

ETA: It's happening again right now - really sharp pain on my left side. WTF?

Hmmm, it seems odd, I have no idea why that would happen. I only have symptoms like that when I'm pg! I would watch it for another few days and if it keeps happening it may be worth a trip to your GP, even just for peace of mind. If it's not severe then I'm sure it's nothing serious.

I was about to post the same as Trish, I've only ever had that when pregnant and everything was stretching and growing. Probably a good idea to visit a dr.

Oh, and a BAD idea to google it, it'll just tell you a million and one things, and none of them reassuring!
