I need to get one for the car especially with the girls riding motorbikes more and getitng involved in gymnastics and the like.
Antiseptic ointment, tweezers, good scissors, bandages & slings, the instant ice packs and things would be great.
Eye patch, cotton balls/buds - gauze patches.
My stepmum has THE BEST first aid kit.. i really should ask her whats in it.
Sometimes a small torch is good for seeing into cuts etc aswell.
I always have the torch in the console of the car anyway, which is separate from the first aid kit, but handy none the less. It's a small LED one.
We have loads of them here too. Smiggle do a really nice little one for $6.95. The one I have is bigger though, it's about 4 inches long and it was one of those cancer council daffodil day ones you see at the checkouts in woolies. With the footy club, we had to replace the ones we had, and I brought a Surgipack branded one for $55 for the canteen and it had loads of stuff in it. I thought it was really reasonable for the price. We added more bandaids and gloves to it, oh and alcohol wipes - I also added those to the car kit too.
this is whats in the kit i'm looking at - planning on topping it up with stuff from here (and grab some of those instant ice packs and things) - this is a deal of 2 for 20Contents:

delivery is 16.50 so not super cheap (hence me looking at other stuff on the site to make it worth it lol)
I think that sounds pretty reasonable. I guess they get their money back with the high postage LOL.
just found a site that has a medium first aid kit as a buy one get one free - for $20
it doesn't have what i would consider a "medium" amount of stuff in it - but it's not a bad start
ideally i'd have a decent st john's kit, but that's waaaaaaaaay outside of the budget at the moment!
