My pleasure! Don't panic about the extra images. Any decent doctor would request more I'm not in the office tomorrow because I have to go to a conference but I will find out that other thing for you on Tuesday

Ok so a bit of an update.

Went back to the specialist today with my CT and MRI results and was basically given 2 options.

    1. leave it as is and it will get worse over time (as expected)

    2. Surgery - more complex than he first though as he would need to shorten 1 bone and put in a plate & screws (as he expected) BUT the other bone has actually rotated and is also out of alignment, to fix this he said he would have to re-align (rotate), break and set the other bone which is something that has only been done once before at the angle mine is on.
He basically said he can't guarantee surgery will actually fix the problem and wont guarantee it will stop the pain, he could only do it in the hope of it not getting a lot worse over time.

So my options are to pay for private surgery (they are sending me a quote) OR wait for the public wait list, no brace will help as he said the position of my wrist is not suitable to be kept stable as it will just aggrivate the injury.

So we are looking at close to $5000 or more for the surgery as it would require 2 plates aswell as the hospital & Dr's etc so i think we might just wait for the public surgery, aside from not having $5000+ to spend on surgery i'm not sure i can spend thatr money knowing that the surgeon himself is not certain it will actually make it pain free - he actually advised he doubts i would ever be pain free

I'm sorry hon I know you were hoping for better news. I think it makes sense to wait on the public list given the uncertainty of the outcome of surgery. I just hope it doesn't take too long to get through the list - did he mention anything about bumping you up the list? And hopefully he puts a mark so that he can do the surgery as a special interest case.

He can't bump me up the list as even though the referral was adressed to him in the pub lic system it just goess into the filing cabinet along with the others. I don't think he can even request it be moved from the non-urgent list
