Ok... just to fine tune all this LOL the two bushes is spot on. Beyond that is a lawn with a curved red brick footpath... laid kinda like the yellow brick road on the Wiz of Oz. The dirt could be the gaps between the tan bark of the garden beds... i've been scratching around there and covering the dirt gaps as I go.

    But still no luck.

Had a look near the wooden fence but that is way over on the other side of the drive way... I don't think even he could have tossed it that far. He is a "thrower" though.

Would it be very childish of me to come over and hide a key in the planter and claim victory ?

I've been drawn to the right too Astrid... But when DH questioned him the first time he pointed off the side of the verander to the left... down toward the foundations of the house... which is why he crawled under the house. BUT today DS told me it was more to the front of the verander... I keep drifting right though in my search. Ahhh I dunno.... it might turn up one day when i'm out there weeding...

I read the title of your post and got the image of grass with a path running alongside it and I felt it was in the grass...off to the right.

I keep on getting the feeling of right. So he threw it to the right with his right hand.
