I like to visualize a sword made of white light cutting off the threads attaching them to me and maybe an armor deflecting further attachment.

yep agree with this, I would also be getting an onyx or hematite necklace and wearing it all the time, if I couldn't find a necklace then I would put a tumblestones in my bra.
