I never thought I believed in an afterlife or anything along those lines until I moved into this house. I am positive we have a Spirit, is that the right name, maybe energy, I don't know really, but there is someone.
I don't feel any fear or get scared, infact what I feel is a sense of calm really. There are multiple times I have felt her, heard her and I think may have even seen her once. I believe she is a middle aged lady but from a long time ago. She does not feel in any way familar to me.
The area we live in is considered one of the most haunted (gee I don't like that word much) areas in NSW and 3 doors up is the oldest Church in the area, it is converted to a residence now. The cemetery is still there and open to people to visit.
My question is, even though I feel no bad vibes, should she still be encouraged to move on? I can go into detail of the times I have encountered her if that can help. There have been some intersting times.
Any help or advice as to what I should do, whether it is okay to interact, ignore, ect would be great.
Are you sure that you are dealing with an earthbound/ghost? that sense of calm is not something I would associate with spirits who have not moved on. However, those who have moved on sometimes make contact, to teach or pass messages while they are between incarnations. Are you usually in tune with any of your guides?
I would have no idea MD, like I said until I moved here I never had anything to do with this or really believed. All this has happened since I was pregnant with DD1 and she seems to always be around when I am doing something in relation to my girls. In my life I have only had a cousin (baby) and my Uncle pass away so if she was someone trying to make contact I don't know who it could be.
If it was my DD1 guide could I pick up on her or would I only sense my guides. Wow I never thought of her been my guide. Is a guide a relation to me?
Hello kazz - I have actually had some experience with spirits before too, as I am kinda sensitive to some of that type of thing. Actually, talking about it - I actually came to your area a few years back for the ghost tour LOL (DH actually saw something!!!) Do any of the girls notice it? It's common that children are extra sensitive to spirits and can sense/ see things more than we do. I had an issue with this once with Damian when he was a few months old (I could sense something very uncomfortable and by the way he was acting and being scared etc I could tell) and what I did was cleanse the house and ask it to leave. That is what I would personally do as I don't like anything being in my space (but to be honest it scared the crap out of me too). I did that by burning sage leaves and asking it to leave and asking for protection and cleansing the house etc.
I have had readings done a few months ago and they have told me that my grandmother (my fathers mother) who has passed is watching over us and in our home with us a lot (my son was born the same day as her last son - weird!!!) I don't have an issue with this but I also don't sense anything weird. Sometimes I may just sense *something* may be around, but nothing uncomfortable. I would say that she is like an angel watching over us or our spirit guide. Guides don't have to be family, sometimes it could be friends or no one you know at all. It really is up to you what you want to do. It is possible it could be a spirit connected to the house (assuming it has been there right from when you moved in?), a passing spirit, or you could be picking up on your guide.
Good luck with everything - would be interested to hear what you have experienced & how it all goes. I am just happy I don't ever have to deal with this type of stuff much at all. It makes me uncomfortable lol, but that's just cos I can't see it I suppose. I just don't know how psychics do it! bless them.
The ghost tour is something I keep planning on doing but just never get around to it. How cool that your DH got to see something. Thanks for coming in here and offering some help.
I think I would definately be asking her to leave if I felt anything bad but I just don't.
Okay, a few things that have happened.
When I was pregnant with A, I was sitting in my car waiting for it to warm up. I looked at my bedroom window. We have verticle blinds with the bottom joiners removed. The 2 last verticle blind was swinging back and forth. No other blind moved.. I actually recorded it on my phone but stupid phone broke and I can't get to it anymore.
When A was 5 months old my mum was here for her christening and was sleeping in our then spare room. I told her if A wakes up don't go in the room, leave her to me. When I heard A start crying I heard who I thought was my mum trying to comfort her. I got up in a huff only to open my door and see spare room door closed. Mum had not gotten up.
This I have heard a few times with both A & M
I wake up very easily at night and it can take me a long time to fall back to sleep. I often have that feeling like she is standing there watching me and I do believe I have seen her there once, she was a white blurry image with slight detail.
When I had some friends and there kids over for A 2nd birthday, One little boy sat in A room talking and laughing to the corner for about 5 minutes. When his mum asked him he just said lady.
A has a few times asked where the lady is.
Both girls had the same spot in my room that they would stare at and smile when babies. But I think just about all babies will find a blank wall amusing.
I might have to read up on guides I guess. If she is a relative she is someone I have never meet. Same with friend, I have not known any female friends that have passed away. Our house is not old, built about 10 years ago. This was once all property of the church but that was over a century ago now. A house that was built on this bloke before it was subdivided into 4 blocks did have a guy take his own life in it but that is all I know of our lands history.
Yeah DH actually saw a figure in the primary school window! Wow your experiences have me goose bumps! It could be your spirit guide but in that case I would think it would have always been there in your life or with your children. Did you have any experiences with it before you moved? It's not always the house itself that ghosts are connected to, sometimes it's the land which is what I would suspect in your situation. It could be an old soul if you say it was land from the church (earthbound spirits can be around for practically all of time until they are ready to move on as far as I am aware, so it could have been from a century ago) or did the man that took his life have a wife and children? She seems to like children perhaps (hence the settling). What kind of noises do you hear when you say she may be comforting them at night and is it all the time or is there any pattern to her visits? Do you want to talk about it to Amelia to see if she knows anything more? Would be interesting if you could get more info on the history of the land if you were interested in joining the dots. Far out I'd just be freaked, you are so calm and level headed about it all, I think that's great!

I will look some more into the history when DH gets home (sat Yay). I guess the more I think about it I would say she is a guide. I have never noticed her before moving here but my mum is really big on all this stuff and she says she feels someone around me. Maybe now that I have had kids and I am so much more open minded about things it is the reason I pick up on her now. I don't know really. Maybe she is trying to help me raise my girls in away.
When I hear the settling sounds it is just the basic Shh sounds and humming. I will ask Amelia but I am not sure if she will understand me to much though.
It takes a lot to scare me. Unless you have 8 hairy legs.
