"like attracts like", so to as sopdet says, fake it till you make it, if that works for you. I know how easy it is to fall back into those cosy dark holes, but I saw the brighter sunshine that was outside it and wanted that more. Yes, often it is easier to feel sad and blue, because lets face it, we feel less guilty then, but there should be no guilt attached to your happiness. Those negative energies or forces do drain you and are attracted to you and what unguarded positiveness you muster.
As I explained to a friend of mine that I used to work with, who was on ad's/anxiety meds, find your sunshine. Not necessarily a tropical paradise (if that's an ideal place you would love to be), but something that makes you feel the same way, such as job, home, suburb or town you live in, new skills, and the people you surround yourself with. Often some 'friends' are like poison, and they draw on whqt positive energy you may have, leaving you feeling even more drained than before. It is possible to learn who these people are, but you should learn to protect yourself from these draining energies (spirits and people).
I am freeing myself of a poisonous place and group of people, a journey I am trying to expedite as I need to relay messages for someone who has just past. The mental relief of being rid of a place like that is terrific, yet, when I was in the process of it, I almost felt sad for doing it, probably because, as I said above, its just easier to fall into those dark places, rather than sunshine.
