I think the benefits of getting it done locally is the opportunity to tap into a group of other people who are having their attunements done. You will learn so much more if you can practice in a group setting.
Yes I agree with Marydean. I am a Reiki Master & I would never attune someone not present. It is my belief that this isn't how Reiki best serves humanity. It is passed from teacher to student & that needs to be done personally (IMO).
Reiki is a beautiful gift to give & receive & you will find that journeying on this path will bring up many challenges for you to work through - the nature of growth is this! I cannot imagine my world without Reiki now - I wish you luck & guidance on your way Fleur! xxx
I think you will find this is one area of your life where setting intent will really be rewarded. When the student is ready, the teacher(s) will appear.
Actually, Marydean, it's interesting you ask because today I had a little distant attunement done. I wasn't really sure what to expect but I felt tingling sensations in my hips, tickles on my feet and a non-painful ache in my leg. When I got up afterwards, I felt really light. I was quite surprised by how I felt because there is a little bit of me that is very slightly skeptical. In saying that, I really would like to fully learn Reiki and understand it more.
