Names, especially names on people of a similar age, indicate that their parents were generally in a similar demographic when their child was born. So people you don't like - eg women named Phillipa aged about 40 (to give an example of people I generally like!) - will problably have had similar parents and upbringings, so therefore have similar beliefs and ways of expressing themselves.
I get some very interesting pre-conceptions about me because of my name. Fascinating when you are well outside of a demographic: my name was popular in certain areas about ten years before I was born. It can actually be pretty helpful!
