Cass :hug: - so sorry your Oma has passed. What a blessing to have your godmother there helping you at this time. Maybe the man was standing there to make sure none of you went outside where the branch fell, or maybe he just gave it a bit of a push as it came down so it didn't hurt anyone?
yeah i just dont have any clue who he is....and TBH i CANNOT get over the strength and warmth and awe i felt in his presence. it was really powerful...almost addictive lol!:

This thread is amazing. I don't think I have any gifts really, I can sense some things, and I always have dreams that come true - which is a bit freaky. I used to be able to feel my guardian (don't know what else to call her) and one night I was having a severe panic attack, and I was on my own in a strange town in NSW, in a small motel room, having this awful panic attack and was thinking I was going to die. I lay down on the bed, and felt a hand running continuously through my hair, and a voice telling me it was all ok, its ok.. everything is going to be ok... shhhh... and I fell asleep. It was so peaceful and loving.
And - I'm not sure whether or not to tell this story, but I will - and if it freaks too many people out I'll delete it later.
When I was pregnant with DS (14 weeks on the dot) I was lying in bed one night with my back to the bedroom window. I felt a presence behind me. Then, I felt whoever it was trying to yank me out of my body ITMS? I was holding on tight to DH around his belly and just squeezing and squeezing him, determined not to let go. I was saying (in my head) - no, no, leave me alone, you're not going to get my baby. It was such a strong feeling and I thought I was going to let go, the pull was that strong. But I didn't - and then I blacked out. (in saying that I blacked out, sleep was immediate, but I did not fall asleep)
After I had blacked out, DH had woken up and saw a shadow on the wall, for whatever it was behind me. He was pretty freaked I think and never turned around, and then he blacked out as well.
We have suspicions on what it was, but we're keeping the theory to ourselves (mainly for fear of judgement). They never came back when I was pregnant with the girls, just DS.

wow - thank you all for sharing your stories. Some gave me goose bumps and others reminded me of times it has happened to me.
I have dreams as well, very distinct and usally don't come real for about 10 years. So when I was in high school dreaming about my hubby (balding and with a gut ;) ) and my kids was a bit bizzare! I also know things and can send this information to my mum and sister. When my sisters dog died she was in europe and we had decided not to tell her that her dog died until she got back but she call that evening and asked what had happened to her dog. Also I remember sitting in my room and thinking 'I really need a desk fan, I need to tell mum' and mum came home about an hour later and gave me a desk fan saying 'I thought you might need one'
I have only been visited by my mums parents. My grandpa died 5 months before my wedding but a day or so before he passed he kept asking for my DH and saying the date of our wedding. Then at our reception mum, DH and I all felt him, it brought tears to my eyes but I was so happy he could be with us. My nana died only recently and when I was at her bedside saying goodbye I meant to tell her that I had just found out I was pregnant but what I said was you have another granddaughter on the way. There was no way I could know this but I 'knew' then I was carrying a girl. I have felt that nana has always been close to DD2 and when we were at the dawn service DD2 and I were quietly standing there when I suddenly smelt her perfume. I knew that she was with us and I let DH know. He couldn't smell her but was happy she was with us. I smelt it a few more times after that as well.
I also know that DD1's guardian is very active. He has needed to be with all her accidents. But one day when I had got to my parents house I had parked on the other side of the road and it was very busy. DD1 ran out from the back of the car to run over the road and suddenly just before she stepped on to the road she fell flat on her face. Just then a car went speeding past. Had DD1 not tripped she would have been killed. All I could do was hug her and reassure both of us she was ok.
Ok, that is probably enough from me, and maz calls herself a thread whore!
Just one last thing, does anyone just 'know' things when they talk to someone? I have felt recently that I am able to tell what is going on in someone as I speak to them and I'm trying to work out if I am being super observant or if my intuition is starting to kick in.
Mel, thanks for posting that story. If you haven't read any Stuart Wilde, you might find it helpful. I know what you speak of, I've had a brush with them too. Freaky, but the universe is obviously a very large place.
Ryatha and Cass, lovely stories. I've had guardian moments, the best one is the time I stopped, without knowing why, when I was about to drive onto a roundabout. 2 seconds later a speeding vehicle appeared, careered around the roundabout, swerving uncontrollably into the lane I would've been in at exactly that time. If I'd driven on their car would've collected mine right where the driver sits. I said a very big thankyou after that.
I have been *blocking* things for years and after DH died I did a 2 day workshop to help me develop some skills and my ability to connect with him. He has given signs that he is around - changed the wallpaper on his locked phone the morning of our scan 3 days after he died, email sent just before he died open on the computer (with a kind of a joke element to it), big ginger and white adult cat on our fence the day we returned home after the funeral (never seen before, never seen since) etc. DS has dreamt of him and told us he went to the *blue* park with Daddy - their usual place to play. DD has given indications that she can see him.
I am still learning and still doubt what I can hear (mainly) but have had de ja vu dreams in the past and knowing that someone is just about to arrive / call. I rely on intuition frequently at work but have been able to dismiss this as advanced clinical skills rather than anything else. As a beginner who doubts what comes through I have found a pendulum useful for the moment until I can trust myself and my messages. I just fear the unknown and not being sure what I can actually do scares me. Also, not having too many people to talk about this with is also challenging - especially as many of my friends are concrete, scientific thinkers ;)
Well Michell my dad has come to me in my dreams:) I know it was different to all other dreams as I could 'feel' in this dream;) My step mum went to a 2 day workshop, host was 'Deb Webber'. Was it the same host for you?
No doubt in my mind your DH would visit, especially your babies :hug:

It was a different host. I actually chose to do a one on one workshop so I could focus on my personal development areas and messages. The meditation aspect was an invaluable skill - I just wish I could practice more often!! Either little people distracting or too tired to concentrate and do it properly.
DH is actually still more earthside - waiting until this baby arrives before he transitions to a higher level. Part of the reason I am finding it harder to make connection with him. I am told it will get easier once he is no longer on this plane. But right now, I am happy he is closer and waiting with me for the birth of our son.

What is helping me with loosing dad, is that I haven't lost him at all. Just in this dimention;)

Exactly what I am starting to learn ;) Apparently doing this course has made my guides very happy - they must have been frustrated dealing with a determined blocker all these years :lol:
Just an aside - while my DH could have been a doubter, he had skills. Except for Caitlyn, he correctly identified the gender of each of out babies at about 5 weeks with a gender appropriate nickname. He and his mother also had a special connection and she would often ring if he was having difficulties - and to ask if we were pregnant with a girl within days of POAS with DD :rofl:
HI girls, I've been reading this thread for a few days now and it's fantastic! I've often wondered myself what gifts fellow BB'ers have :) There are too many amazing stories to comment on directly but there are 2 in particular I would like to mention
Michelle :hug: I remember reading about your dh passing and have thought of you often, I'm almost relieved to read that you are in contact with him. I think you will find that now you have opened the flood gates so to speak you will have heaps of information flowing through and your growth will be exponential.
Cassius Wow girl you have a pretty special gift! I can understand not mentioning the death thing to those that you see it for. Personally if a lovely person like yourself saw death for me or someone I cared about I think I'd appreciate some well timed sincere words from you in general conversation. Something about treasuring every moment with your loved ones etc would be enough for me to think about spending some quality time with those important to me without having to know that death is around the corner. That way the ones who are left behind can have a special memory and I would go knowing that I left with love and gratitude in my heart because I'd spent the time to stop and smell the roses so to speak :) Have you had any visits from your beautiful Oma? That man you spoke of seems like he is protecting you or maybe waiting to protect someone who is very special who is coming to visit you?
OK so I know this thread is about seeing the past and future, can't remember who it was saying about feeling/seeing what may of been their own past lives but that is really cool! I've only seen a few of my past lives during meditation. Dreaming and my regular intuition are great skills I have but my real gift is creating the future through manifesting! I am so good at it that many other people who are 'trying' to create, have noticed this skill and have asked me how I do it :) My dh has the most amazing intuition and he is receiving messages on a smaller scale every day. I am sure if he cared enough he would be able to expand that gift into seeing the future but he isn't really interested. He has the ability to speak to someone over the phone or face to face and know what is going on for them and he is constantly receiving information on smaller day to day things. After a few years of me pointing all this stuff out to him I have made a believer out of him! He has a wonderful connection with what he calls his subconscious and can ask any question and he receives and answer... I'd like to think that answer is coming from his guides and filtering through his subconscious and he gets the info loud and clear. He doesn't language it like that but I'm pretty sure that is what is going on hence his ability to think about another person and know outcomes or action steps ;)

I don't think I really have much of a gift so much as an intuition. I just try to look into myself and see the way kind of, lol! Like many of you I have had the 'deja vu' dreams. Not so much since I've had my children but before I had them I used to get that feeling of having seen certain situations play out before in my dreams, I know the words that will be spoken, or maybe more the 'feeling' of them. THese situations are usually not terribly important times, usually just normal run of the mill kind of days, not significant days or anything. I actually haven't had one for a long time. But then I don't get alot of sleep these days (my kids are allergic to it! lol) and I don't think I sleep heavily enough anymore to get into the dream phase properly...
Also each time I have been pg I have dreamed of my babies coming to me early in the pg. With my miscarriages I had the feeling that the bubs wouldn't be earth babies. I also dream the sex of them and very early in pg I have an intuition of what sex they will be. In 4 pregnancies, I have not been wrong. This time, I think we're having a girl. DD has told me that the baby is a girl too. And unlike my other two bubs she will be a baldy baby with light hair, lol! But we'll wait and see for that prediction!
I often ask what I guess would be my guides or guardians what path I should take in certain situations. And I usually get some sort of sign. For example recently I asked them if it was right for my family if we should have baby #3, and for weeks all I saw everywhere was pg women and tiny babies, lol, then once DH and I said yep, we would ttc #3, I didn't see the pg women or babies in the numbers I had been seeing. I asked if it would be right for our family to move to the bush. A week later there was a job available for DH in two different country towns, I asked them to point the way to the right place for us and the guy in charge of the two jobs, a few days later called and told DH he thought it would be best if we came out to where we are currently living and gave the reasons, even though it was totally unprofessional and not really his place to do so!! Now I suppose doubters (like my DH!) could say all of this could be my own subconcious telling me what is best and just me seeing signs in things that would happen anyway, but I think it is my guides/guardians giving me a helping hand. I don't think I have never felt them really, nor seen them. I just have faith that they are around.
My mum has a connection with us kids. She often calls when we need her to. She knows when something is wrong and often what we need.
My grandfather and I think my uncle too 'haunt' my grandma's house. Several people (only relatives though) have heard footsteps in her hall way. On cold nights her electric blanket is known to come on by itself! She used to have a clock that would chime the hour and it had been broken for years, then on the anniversary of Bippy's (grandad's) death (8/8/87) one day it chimed 8 times. Sooo weird!! After my uncle passed away, all of his photos would regularly fall over. Nan had some of his clothes at her house stashed away in her cupboard and she would often find them in strange places, when noone ever touched them. One day she found a pair of his socks stashed under her carseat, lol! There's other things I can't think of at the moment!
I have aslo had the real dreams of people who have passed. I can't remember details anymore, but nearly everyone I know who has passed away has visited me in a dream, usually only one, maybe to just say goodbye :)
hey i have a question... if you have a dream of someone who has passed and you think it is actually them visiting you does it have to have happened before you found out they have died? i ask because my nana passed (i knew she was sick but thought it would be like a couple weeks to a month) suddenly got a phone call from mum sahing she passed. anyway it was either that night i found out or the night after i had a dream and nana was in it and i just had a feeling it was actually her. she looked healthy, like i remember her from wheni was little, she was telling me she had been sick for about 6 months previously to when this had all happened and i just generally felt better after i woke up. but then again it could have just been a normal dream brought on by thinking about it all i suppose?
on the other hand, about 6 months later mums dad was sick and mum had a dream that nana and grandad (mums parents) came to her. she woke up and knew that grandad had passed. sure enough she got the phone call that day. so this is slightly different to my dream as she didnt know he had died.
Hollo I think it would just be that the person needs to have passed away. If they are coming to you in a dream in spirit, then they just need to be gone, kwim? You don't need to know they are gone.
Hollo - are you asking how to tell when it's just a dream because you are thinking about them vs when it is really someone visiting you? I think the difference is the quality of the dream - sometimes it just seems clearer and realer and easier to remember. I've had my departed Nanna visit me, and also a friend who I knew to be close to death but I didn't know for a couple of days after when she passed...turned out it was the night of my "dream". If it was just about me thinking about them then you'd think you would have several dreams over the period of time you're thinking of them, not one clear one with that feeling of reality attached to it, kwim?
yeah i guess that is what i was asking marydean. the dream i had was really clear, comforting and 'different'. i did have other dreams about her around this time but this particular one was different. the fact that it happened after i found out made me think that maybe it was just because of me thinking about her knowing she had already died. i guess i can never know for sure. but i feel as though it was special.

I have just found this thread. I find it all very interesting. I do not have any special abilities but I have had a few dreams that have come true kind of like the deja vu thing. I'm glad they all don't let me tell you I have some vivid dreams!
The reason I had a look in here is I have a feeling that my pop is hanging around. Well I hope it's my pop but I'd like to know. Since I have been pregnant I have really noticed smells in my bedroom, my husband can't smell them. I've smelt cologne that wasn't his and I smell matches all the time, I think my pop used matches when he smoked. It nice to think that it is my pop looking over me. Can anyone out there with abilities see if it really is him?

hi ladies, wow i must say i love this thread!
i can see ghosts. we have a young guy in our house at the moment. i havent seen him for awhile, but about 6 months after we moved in, i saw him a few times. i can also smell too. i often smell cigarette smoke in our bedroom usually in the early hours of the morning. its weird as neither i nor DH smokes at all.
i am a nurse too and i work in a hospital. i used to work on one particular ward which used to be the old maternity ward. it shut down when the new womens health opened, and was later converted into a medical overflow ward. anyway we would often see just a pair of feet walking around lol. i was pretty scared and confused the first time i saw them. there was also a little girl who loved the double room at the end of the ward. we would only go up there in groups if a bell went off which often, if there wasnt a patient in one of the beds up there, it did. plus i have seen curtains move (no airconditioner on) at times. i have also seen an old man too. others have seen him either holding the little girls hand or carrying her around. she would often visit dying patients. we had a couple of complaints of patients seeing their cup slide to the end of their tables then fly off them! once at about 5 am there was 3 of us sitting around doing paperwork when we heard a newborn baby cough. u know how they have a distinct cooughing sound? it scared the %$@# out of us!! lol. now its a palliative care ward and the girls down there now hate nights.
i often get de ja vu too. can be pretty unnerving at times. i have been told i have a gift and that i need to atune to it. i would love to know how tho. DH doesnt believe in any of this stuff.
also, when DH and i were dating and he lived in a particular place and when i stayed over, things always happened. i woke up one morning to feel the edge of the bed move three times like someone was either lying down on it or sitting down. i saw a dog at the end of the bed too who jumped up and i had a feeling of crushing on my chest. always saw a shadow ghost too in his room.
in the house we lived in when i was a teenager, i often saw shadow ghosts in my room there too. my mum often told me that she saw several shadow ghosts. she is very intuitive to that sort of thing too. always has been. i think i get it from her.
Cassius: just want to put your mind at ease: if you saw death around me at the last meetup maybe it was because my FIL passed away last week. He was a good man and i was fortunate to be able to say goodbye to him in his last hours so his death has touched me quite closely. He was in his 80's and ready to pass. :hug: for the passing of your Oma.
Just remembered, when I was living with an ex a while back I was woken up in the middle of the night by a VERY angry person half whispering, half shouting "get out of my house!".
I thought it must have just been a dream so went to go back to sleep and she (I think it was?) said it again much more aggressively. Scared the heck outta me.

I'm not sure if I have the "gift" or not. I've definately had quite a few experiences in my life that are scared the living day lights out of me.
My scariest by far was when I was 17. We had just moved into a rental property where not long before we moved in a young girl about 21, was electricuted to death in the house. She was opening a fridge when the force of the electricity grabbed her and pulled her into the fridge, killing her. :(
The first instance of things happening was when her boyfriend came over to have a few beers with my mums bf.
I was home alone one night when I heard a huge bang. It was so loud it frightened me so much. I got out of bed to try and work out what it was and as I walked past our fridge, I could smell death. It smelt like a decomposing rat or mouse.
At that point in the bottom of my little brothers toy box, a battery operated pin ball machine (which didn't have any batteries in it) started to make noise. I fished it out of the toy box and the numbers on it were spinning and spinning so fast. I was punching it to try and stop it but it wouldnt stop.
I called my mum who was out camping in histerics. I was terrified and couldnt stay in the house. A friend later came up to the house and took me back to their place for the night.
That wasn't the last thing to happen to me in that house and not long after I decided to move out.
As I get older I feel like I "see" things more often and more clearly. Just the other day I was at a friends house and we were preparing to go camping for the weekend. I lent down to put a sock on and just caught the glimpse of the top of a head of a little boy with brown hair. Ofcourse when I looked back, he was gone.
Thats how i see things atm. In quick glances. Long enough for me to identify features of them, but not long enough for me to have a good look.
I'll be honest, this type of thing scare the $hit out of me! I accept that there is more to death than just dying but I'd rather not see it.
I've also always felt very intuitive. I always listen to my intuition and I am usually always spot on. I also experience episiodes of where I will think someone is going to call, or think of a certain song etc and it happens seconds later. Conincidence - who knows?!

AFM: well as some of you know my Oma has just recently passed. i am in her house atm (with my Opa) and the energy has been building. i *know* that my Oma is a stickler for traditions and i guess that some of this is attributed to her needing to go through the process of goodbye (i guess the funeral). but boy it has given me some fright last night. 'someone' was walking in front of the window outside of the house around 2am and it didnt feel good. i hope that it will pass. i know that ALOT of the energy has passed today and there is alot more calm itms. but still, i cant help but feel agitated.
sometimes through dreams - and more like dejavu than anythign else...
... i still once in a blue moon smell the perfume my Great-Auntie use to wear, she passed away over a decade ago and i have her middle name as my middle name, it's so lovely to smell it when i don't expect it :D

Teresa: It's been a while since i read your posts but i just had a flash after reading them again today... the kind that I have learned to trust... I don't know if you have seen a member Caddie around here yet but the last flash i had involved her and quite interesting for both of us! Anyhow I believe you need to seek some guidance about how to protect your insight. Perceptive people (people who are aware of passed spirits etc) are vulnerable in some ways. In my early 20's i experienced something of a spiritual attack and was compelled to march straight to my closest church... i wasn't religious at all but it really helped. Even if you just sit there during your lunch hour and visualise yourself surrounded by white light. Please don't feel unnerved... you're safe... but I think you just need some white light. We all do now and again. I'll be imagining some around you too :hug:
I've been smelling smoke (as in from a fire not cigarettes) again recently. I think I mentioned it in one of my other posts- used to smell it at my mum's old place but she never could and would check and find nothing wrong. Any idea if it means something in particular or just a random smell? Pretty sure it's not from outside cause DF can never smell it, just me.
About a month ago DS woke up crying at about 9/ 10pm, which isn't unusual, but when I walked in the room I had this horrible feeling. It's really hard to explain but the room just felt really wrong. So I quickly grabbed DS and went out to the lounge and put him back to sleep out there. Went to bring him back to bed and the second I entered the room felt it again. After less than a minute I had leave the room. I just could not physically be in there, and there was no way I was leaving DS in there so I took him back out. DF thought I was nuts. Went in turned the light on and said it was fine. I went in and it felt normal again. I dont know if he chased away whatever it was causing it or if turning on the light did but it scared the hell out of me.
Heather: in that situation don't hesitate to say firmly (either in your head, under your breath or out loud... whatever you feel most comfortable with). "In the name of all that is good (insert God, the Holy spirit, Allah, or whatever you believe) LEAVE this place! You have no earthly power, LEAVE this place!" You could also try sprinkling salt in the room... this is one of several spiritual cleansing rituals i have learned over the years... maybe Google "spiritual cleansing". There are also certain crystals that are good to place in places that you feel are under the influence of negative energy spirits. I am no expert but you don't have to put up with that kind of bad energy in your home. :hug:
This is going to sound really strange and some what obsessive....
But I think my Spirit Baby visited my womb last night!
I was getting ready to go to sleep when I was thinking that I would have been 17 weeks this Saturday and would have be feeling the baby move for sure. Then I started getting lots of little "kick" feelings right down low in my abdomen. For some strange reason, I said out allowed...."My Spirit Baby is visiting me!"
Am I crazy???
Thanks Bath, I'll do that next time. What if I dont believe anything- I believe there is more than what we see/ know but no specific religion. Do I just skip the God part or do I need to replace it with something.

Sara- :hug: I dont think your crazy at all. Maybe bub was just letting you know that it knew you were thinking of them and that it was watching over you.
Heather: if you believe in the power of love and that there is a higher power that is love (for example) then maybe say that... evil, wayward spirits abhor love... they seek to replace love and hope with fear and hopelessness and thus creating a void. Just what i believe, don't let me put words into your mouth.

Bathsheba - wow thank you. I must say what u said has unnerved me a bit. Not sure what it all means but will definately be praying and imagining some white light. What's annoyed me lately is I am seeing a black figure in my house and it seems new. Hmm will have to look into seeking some sort of guidance or help I think.

i thought i would add a few things to this thread......years ago i was staying over at a friends place, i had stayed there many time, she had lost one of twins to sids a few years earlier, i was laying reading in bed one night and i saw a flash of a child run past the door (it wasn't the other children) and that night in bed i felt a child of about 4 standing next to my bed (which was the age of the surviving twin then) i sat up thinking it was the surviving child wanting something and said whats the matter darling but there was no one there.
the other strange thing was last year i could smell an almost constant smell of soil for several days, it was driving me crazy, even my DH body wash smelt like it, i was describing it to him that it smelt like a freshly dug grave and he was most offended (lol), anyway this went on a few days and then we found out my old aunt had died, so we went down to her house and sorted things out but at the same time another aunt had had a heart attack and was in a coma, we went to visit her in the hospital and i was going insane with the freshly dug grave smell all the way there and while there, i kept saying to everyone else can't you smell that but they couldn't, she also died a few days later and then the smell was gone, it was all very weird, im sure i didn't imagine it and can only assume someone was letting me know there was going to be a death in the family

When i was about 6 or 7 my sister and i were playing with a little boy that we'd never played with before and i started talking to a little girl that i thought was his sister and i was wondering why my sister was ignoring her, then she stopped talking to me and walked away and i saw all this blood down the back of her white dress and in her blond hair, i screamed and ran inside to get his mum to tell her because i couldnt see her anymore, the mum said she didnt have a daughter and she doesnt know what im talking about, my sister never saw her, but as i went to sleep that night i had dreams of her dad (i just knew it was her dad) hitting her head on the rock that she was standing on when she turned around. I also get the de ja vu thing to the point that if we meet someone out and about DP will ask me if i knew we'd see them haha and when the phone rings before he answers it he'll ask me who is it, he reckons who needs an answering maching when we've got you! haha But i've always dismissed it, apart from that little girl even years later i remember it vividly. My sister says i wasnt speaking at all, just standing there looking, she kept asking me what am i doing and she said she felt wierd and wanted to go home but i couldnt hear her? Has this happend to any of you?
