    Heather: if you believe in the power of love and that there is a higher power that is love (for example) then maybe say that... evil, wayward spirits abhor love... they seek to replace love and hope with fear and hopelessness and thus creating a void. Just what i believe, don't let me put words into your mouth.

    Bathsheba - wow thank you. I must say what u said has unnerved me a bit. Not sure what it all means but will definately be praying and imagining some white light. What's annoyed me lately is I am seeing a black figure in my house and it seems new. Hmm will have to look into seeking some sort of guidance or help I think.

    hi everyone,

    i thought i would add a few things to this thread......years ago i was staying over at a friends place, i had stayed there many time, she had lost one of twins to sids a few years earlier, i was laying reading in bed one night and i saw a flash of a child run past the door (it wasn't the other children) and that night in bed i felt a child of about 4 standing next to my bed (which was the age of the surviving twin then) i sat up thinking it was the surviving child wanting something and said whats the matter darling but there was no one there.

    the other strange thing was last year i could smell an almost constant smell of soil for several days, it was driving me crazy, even my DH body wash smelt like it, i was describing it to him that it smelt like a freshly dug grave and he was most offended (lol), anyway this went on a few days and then we found out my old aunt had died, so we went down to her house and sorted things out but at the same time another aunt had had a heart attack and was in a coma, we went to visit her in the hospital and i was going insane with the freshly dug grave smell all the way there and while there, i kept saying to everyone else can't you smell that but they couldn't, she also died a few days later and then the smell was gone, it was all very weird, im sure i didn't imagine it and can only assume someone was letting me know there was going to be a death in the family

    When i was about 6 or 7 my sister and i were playing with a little boy that we'd never played with before and i started talking to a little girl that i thought was his sister and i was wondering why my sister was ignoring her, then she stopped talking to me and walked away and i saw all this blood down the back of her white dress and in her blond hair, i screamed and ran inside to get his mum to tell her because i couldnt see her anymore, the mum said she didnt have a daughter and she doesnt know what im talking about, my sister never saw her, but as i went to sleep that night i had dreams of her dad (i just knew it was her dad) hitting her head on the rock that she was standing on when she turned around. I also get the de ja vu thing to the point that if we meet someone out and about DP will ask me if i knew we'd see them haha and when the phone rings before he answers it he'll ask me who is it, he reckons who needs an answering maching when we've got you! haha But i've always dismissed it, apart from that little girl even years later i remember it vividly. My sister says i wasnt speaking at all, just standing there looking, she kept asking me what am i doing and she said she felt wierd and wanted to go home but i couldnt hear her? Has this happend to any of you?

    Bathsheba- I tried what you said the other day, even though I was feeling ok I thought I'd try it out, and a few seconds later the room suddenly felt so so positive and happy. Since then I've been feeling alot happier. I'm still doing the same things, listening to the same music but everything feels really different. Before I'd listen to a song and be feeling negative now I can listen to the same song and see the positive in it. I cannot believe the difference a few silent thoughts have made! I just hope it lasts

    Wow what an interesting thread! I can't see the future but I used to dream vividly of the past (as in a past I had not lived). At the age of about 3 I dreamt I was taken somewhere by a boy who was older (maybe 9 years) to a man he said was his uncle. The man I can remember even now, and he pulled me on his knee and did things to me, things a 3 year old would not have any knowledge of. I have always had a fear of being in an exposed area with nowhere to hide. I used to enter a room and look for where I could make a box or hiding place. It wasn't until i started learning about the holocaust that all I had dreamt and felt made a lot of sense to me, as children were routinely hidden from the nazis in cubby holes, under floors, etc.

    As for the future, I have intuition which is sometimes strong, sometimes not so. For example, my 3rd pregnancy I knew I would lose from the pregnancy test, because I could not "see" the birth. With my 4th pregnancy I didn't see the point in scans, etc, because I knew it would be fine. The only thing I feared was that I was carrying twins, despite my midwife assuring me I was not. I kept seeing a boy and a girl, and I thought it was just a dream where I couldn't work out the sex of my baby(A scan at 21 weeks agreed with my intuition - boy/girl twins).

    Also a friend of mine called me a few months ago to say her twins had twin to twin transfusion syndrome. I knew immediately that one would die. I was proven wrong when they were both born strong and were doing well, but 6 weeks later I got a call to say they had not been telling everyone exactly how sick the littlest twin was, and he passed away a couple of days after that. The day he passed I smelt something sweet and spicy all over the place, but no-one else could. I wonder if it was him or one of his relatives thanking me for praying for a painless passing.

    I can sense spirits, but cannot see them, although I can hear them at times. There are none in this house thankfully, after years of living in a very haunted house I am glad to be alone at times.

    Bathsheba - ok this may sound silly but what will imagining white light around me do? Is it for protection?

    (Just a flying visit)

    Teresa: I believe that that visualising white light and even performing cleansing rituals like the salt one are a demonstration that you allign yourself to God/love/the power of goodness. This is why even just sitting inside a church helps to ward off the weaker negative energies that are associated with "bad spirits". I don't think it's just superstition. Personally I believe that there is a real and tangible benefit to regularly alligning yourself with the powers of goodness. It awakens your awareness. A bit like tuning your TV into the right station. Humans are receivers of energy like aerials... you have to be careful of what you are picking up on because you will also end up transmitting the same energy. This is why I worry when people neglect their spiritual selves... it makes them so vulnerable. Spiritual hygiene is similar to physical hygiene... should be maintained.... and is extra important for people who are especially insightful and sensitive. I rejected formal "religion" as such until i realised I was on the receiving end of some very bad energies...and that i was also transmitting them. As a bit of a science buff/geek I was in denial for years.... I wanted life to be simple and WYSIWYG. But I couldn't ignore my intuition that had always served me well... and it was my intuitive voice that was screaming at me to get to a church despite the fact that i had never really been to one by myself before.... (only as a child at family weddings etc). So I just did it. And like you i felt almost instant relief... and that's how it started.... in a nutshell... my mind opened and I started to take care of my spiritual self. I'm nothing special though... not an expert... just learning through trial and error. Everyone has an intuitive voice... even the most staunch sceptic will call it a "hunch". But it's there for a reason, listen to it, protect it. Get to know what constitutes "goodness" and stay alligned with that. Know that "badness" is very charismatic though and may seek to enter your heart trojan horse style... in the form of mere entertainment etc. But don't be fooled. Your soul is an energy that is being fought over like any other..... think of the wars fought over oil!!! that is NOTHING compared to the spiritual wars fought over human spirit. I say that at the risk of sounding totally loopy... and some people will think i'm loopy... but I have spent time on both sides of the fence and I now know in what place I feel safer... and that's a place with lots of white light!

    man... i wish i could get into all this stuff more.

    i've had one instance, but i dunno if it counts. When my Aunty was pg I dreamt that her little boy would be amazingly fair, with white curly hair... anyway, he wasn't. he had sandy blonde hair and a olive skin to die for.
    but, her second son was.
    However... now that i've had jackson i wonder if it's him i was dreaming of. his hair is so blonde, nearing white and he's got my very fair complextion. who knows really. maybe it was just a fluke ><;

    I occassionally have feelings... but, nothing amazingly out of the ordinary.

    What really freaks me out tho, is DS will sometimes be looking into nothing, absoluetly nothing, and he'll grin, or giggle or just become very consentrated with a little frown on his face like he does when he's trying to suss someone out. i'd love to know what he can see.
