Hairloss/Thining assoc/w Mirena?

Hi girls!

I had the Mirena put in last september. It has been really good but the last few weeks i have noticed that i seem to either be losing hair or my hair is thinning at the front.

Has anyone else had this problem???

Other than that the Mirena has been great. I was so suprised when i got my second period while on the mirena at exactly 28 days. In the whole 14 years i have been getting a period that has never happened!!

Bleeding is also that light that i am only needing to wear a liner aswell!

Anyways....back to the main issue. Any comments or opinions appreciated!

I am losing hair but I think that is because of my PG/ BF my DD#2 she is 17mths so it will be a while before I can tell.
Do you see signs of regrowth? Although I am losing heaps I am growing it back?

Well i have'nt actually looked that close. But i am pretty sure their is'nt any regrowth.

Do you still have the booklet that came with the Mirena? I just went and dug it out and it said while hair loss isn't common >1/100, it is classed as less common 1/100 - 1/1000 women suffer this side effect. If you are worried I would mention it to your Dr. It could be that you are just losing hair from the PG. There have been similar threads about hair loss recently.

Yeah i did read the booklet and noticed that hair loss is'nt common.

I normally do lose a lot of hair but its not normally focused on 1 spot IYKWIM.

I am going to the Dr on friday about my back from pg so i will mention it then i think.

Good luck at the Dr. I hope you get some answers.
I had some hair loss but I put it down to normal post-natal hair loss and it all seems to have grown back.
