    Hi,
I had the Mirena for 6 months. I bled for 5 months and on the 6th month it had dislodged and was sitting in my cervix (I could feel the shank of the Mirena and the strings). In the 6 months my AF did get lighter as time went on but I had constant bleeding in between that needed a normal pad not just a panty liner. I was told it was normal to bleed for the first 6 months and feeling the strings. I also had pain but I thought it was from the Endometriosis I suffer from.

    Hope I have helped. :^)
    Take care
    Chris

I bled for 3 months after I had it put in. Not heavy, but sometimes needed a tampon. Mainly just panty liner stuff. It was very frustrating. But since the bleeding has stopped, I've only had one period which lasted for one day. Other months, I get a pink tinged mucous and that's it for about two days. I'm happy with it now but at first I just wanted it gone and thought I'd made a mistake. DH could 'feel' the strings when DTD too so I had to have them cut really short. I've had it in for about 11 months now and couldn't be happier but the first 6 months were pretty crap. Aren't you supposed to get it checked anyway after 6 weeks? I'd definitely at least get that done......hope things improve x

They are fantastic if they work Feeb. I love mine. Don't even know it's in there anymore and never get a period! Haven't noticed any side effects either
