No I am not preg yet, BUT WILL BE!!!! and I cant work out what the "protocol" would be for a baby shower after a late loss?
I know you normally have one for your first, and thats fine (and I did) 12 years ago, for my second DS I did not have one (8 years ago) but when I fell pregnant with Matthew there was such a huge gap between the boys that I thought it would be a bit of fun, and when it was suggested by my sister in law. I thought "what the hey... lets do it"
We had Matthew's baby shower when I was 36 weeks. Matthew passed away during labour at 39 weeks 2 days. Everyone who went to his shower, also attended his funeral. My question is, WHEN I get preg again, what do you think the rules are for another shower?
I personally didn't have one for either but for those who do it is a celebration of teir unborn child, their pregnancy and being surrounded by people who love them.
I say DO IT, your allowed to celebrate your pregnancy, if your worried about people bringing gifts etc say no gifts (although most ppl prob still would) and just say it's a day to celebrate with friends.
Yes I was more worried about the gift side of things, I did attempt to give all of the gifts back after his passing, but was met with "no ways" and "keep it till next time"
I know its crazy thinking about this now, before even conceiving, but I am feeling positive so I thought I would throw it out there.
