just wondered if I could pick your brains on a couple of questions that have been worrying me recently?
I lost my little boy at 14wks 5days. It was a missed misscarriage which was picked up when I went for a scan because I had had some spotting.
I had had a heavy bleed and passed a large clot/tissue at 12 weeks and was scanned at that point. U/S showed baby was fine with a good heartbeat. Sonographer mentioned she could see a 'haematoma' on my placenta but no cause for concern. She couldn't tell me what had caused the bleed. No further problems for the next two weeks except the spotting I mentioned and some dull, mild pain low down in my abdomen.
I had a 'medically managed' miscarriage in hospital with no D&C. When I delivered my little boy the doctor told me the sac was intact so he could be sure that there was no 'product' left in my uterus. For this reason they did not do a further U/S after I had delivered.
Post mortem results came back showing no chromosomal abnormalities of bub or problems with my blood. Results showed he died at around 12 weeks, just after my original scan.
First question is: could the first bleed have been the loss of a twin? I only recently discovered it was possible to lose one twin and continue the pregnancy with the surviving twin. There are many twins in my family so I worry that I lost a baby and didn't realise it.
Secondly, I have been having some mild pain recently. I have had two normal periods since my MC and towards the end of both and for a week or so after I have noticed similar dull ache to that which I had just before the MC. Very mild but there most of the time. Went to GP and she said probably unrelated and nothing to worry about. Think it might all be in my head but wanted to see if any of you ladies had experienced similar.
