The census officers have until Sunday to deliver them all. The person delivering to you probably lives in the same sticks that you do, and is just getting around to everyone's place.

Yeah we have 10 days to deliver - I had 380 homes in my area - it took me a total of 13.5 hours to deliver mine - which I did do over a weekend as I work during the week. Not everyone would have that ability though as that is a lot of walking in a weekend and not everyone who does it is younger.

Wow! I have already done 30 hours and still havent finished. My area is rural so lots more driving than walking.

I was in town, so my was pretty well straight forward - lots and lots of walking and very sore feet and calves at the end of the day! I believe rural collectors get paid more due to all the travelling you have to do.

The census is supposed to be filled out on the night of 9th aug. Why are people filling it out now? Just curious..

You can fill out the basic stuff if you are sure you'll be home. If anything happened on census night - like you were suddenly called away or friends suddenly stayed, you wouldn't hand your form in and be added to where you are staying or add the other person on your form.
