Bloods every 48-72 hours should indicate a BHCG that is doubling. This will tell you if the pregnancy is progressing or if the levels have dropped it indicates the pregnancy is failing to progress. Otherwise an U/S at 6-7 weeks should show a HB and measurements that continue to correlate with your dates.

There can be many reasons for scant blood loss in early pregnancy - implantation, subchorionic haematoma, threatened miscarriage etc etc. The first few weeks before a HB is likely to be seen are the hardest because there is no test that will predict whether or not the pregnancy will continue or not. None of this makes it any better and it still hurts. The waiting makes it even harder
