Question Miscarriage at 2-4 weeks? Not much happening so far.......... help???

Just found out on sunday that I was PG and then this morning I was woken with a horrendous burning pain in my stomach I think I'm only 2-4 weeks along and apart from a very small amount of blood coloured discharge throughout the day nothing more has happened. No more pain, no more blood etc. Nothing like a normal period even.

I had a mc in Jan this year at 14weeks and everything started to move along pretty quickly. Painful & messy in my case, but nothing like it this time.....

Is it diff coz not so far along this time?? or could this be something else??

Hosp took bloods today but wont have anything back till tomorrow afternoon from them.

I can only really tell you about my own experience with early miscarriage. I had terrible cramping and stomach pain which crippled me for at least 10 minutes, then I passed some clotty blood and continued to bleed for about a week as if it was a period only a bit more crampy than usual.

I have everything crossed that it is not a miscarriage and your beautiful baby is as sticky as ever

    All the best x

How long ago was your last period? Pregnancy is usually measured from your last period, so you usually only find out you are pregnant when you are 4 weeks along (4 weeks since your last period).

This info might help you get the right answers to your question. Depending on how far along you are it could be implantation bleeding or just unexplained bleeding with no bad effects or something else.

Sally - yes my mc in Jan was exactly like you describe, but that's not what's happening now...so I'm not sure whats going on. Thanks for the stcky thoughts though
Kate07 - im shocking at keeping track of my dates but I think last period was approx. 6 weeks ago. I took the PG test on sunday and it was positive, so could it still be implantation bleeding even though I tested PG prior???

I'm just so cautious about getting my hopes up this time.

I agree with Kate07, it sounds like you are about 6 weeks pregnant, and at this stage a miscarriage would usually involve some blood loss (although not always). Hopefully the blood tests will help you work out what is happening. Could it be possible you ate something that upset your stomach?

    Traveller - It's possible that I ate something, I don't know.

Well I'm sure I slept with my fingers & toes crossed last night, and so far so good. Still no cramps & no more spotting this morning. Bring on appointment this afternoon!!!!! I just wanna know what's going on. Feeling ok today so heading back to work, so will see how we go I spose.

Well got results back yesterday. HCG level is 170 so fits in with me thinking I'm only approx. 2 weeks PG. Dr says not much to do at such an early stage but wait and see. Has referred me for a vascular ultrasound & more bloods next week. Thanks for the help ladies, hopefully my next post will be the woo hoo room

Congrats, that's great news! I've een following but not posting.

Generally 2 weeks 'pregnant' is actually when you have ovulated, as pregnancy is counted from your last period...so the week you have your period you are considered 1 week 'pregnant', if that makes sense. So you are probably around 4 weeks, judging by your blood test results. Looking forward to seeing those numbers rise beautifully

Hey Jasrach22 - What does your doctor say? have you had an ultrasound yet to confirm if everythings ok?
I'm chomping at the bit as my doctor is away and the hosp only gave me referral for a 6 week ultrasound so have to wait till next week still. I have a refferal for some more bloods though so will get those done this week to make sure my hcg is still going up.

What about your hcg levels luv? how are they?

Did have bloods done and a dating scan (lied and said I didn't know when I last had af )
Anyway have a docs appt. on Wednesday 20th to discuss results, but sonographer said something was enlarged so wasn't looking good from the start, and this morning I started clotting so pretty sure it's all over
Oh well when I know for sure will treat myself to a bottle of JD lol *sigh*
