    Miscarriage flashbacks during heavy periods?

I'm having my first period in 8 months, it's been brought on with Primolut. These periods are always awful, I've taken less Primolut this time to hopefully avoid the worst of it, but usually it goes for a few weeks and there is a LOT of bleeding and huge clots.

I'm finding every time I go to the loo, I get the shakes or even start crying, because I keep thinking it's another miscarriage. I know it can't be one, because I had blood and POAS tests before taking the Primolut, but every time I get another fist sized clot, I lose it.

Has anyone else ever had this, like EVER? Or do I need to tell my psych about it?

    Hey sweets,

Yes, this is something that has happened to me. We suffered 4 miscarriages between DS & DD but I have PCOS and sometimes the heavy periods made me think the same.

I think it's 'normal' in the sense that it's something you want badly (a bubba) but at the same time you've experienced loss so know what a miscarriage looks like. that in itself is enough to trigger emotions.

So I say normal, but do mention it to your psych because they may have coping strategies for you to try or it could give them a clue about anything else underlying that they need to be paying attention to

    yes, very much - unfortunately.

it would be good to talk to the psych to see if you can find some coping mechanisms to deal with it.

Yes, I have had this from time to time. Sometimes my period is really clotty and it reminds me of a m/c and it brings up terrible emotions. I'd chat to your psych about it though, might help to release some of those emotions in a 'safe' environment IYKWIM?

Yes. I am still reminded of my mc when AF is particularly vicious, almost four years later, even post- take home baby. I also agree your psych might have some useful techniques to try. It couldn't do any harm to ask.
