A chemical pregnancy is usually what doctors call a miscarriage which occurs within a week or two of when AF was due. I had one in 2004. My AF came the day she was due but i was also flying that day and i only bled while we were actually in the air. Then it stopped and didn't come back. I did a bunch of HPT's and got one faint BFP and a lot of BFN's. About 2 weeks later i began to get really horrendous pain and heavy loss so i went to the hospital. The pregnancy had been attempting to attach and failig to manage it for a few weeks, which had delayed AF. Apparently the AF when i flew was probably due to flying when the blastocyst was trying to bury itself. I bleed havily for a few days, then lightly for a few weeks.
From what you described i would think for some reason you had a short luteal phase this month. That sometimes happens for no particular reason, AF just comes a bit early. Because AF came early, around the time implantation would have been happening, i doubt this was a chemical pregnancy for you, but obviously i cannot be sure and a trip to the doctor might help.
FWIW it is estimated that 25% of fertilied eggs do not manage to implant. In the vast majority of those cases AF comes right on time. There is no way of knowing if the egg has been fertilised or not unless one had IVF and had embies put inside you. In medical terms pregnancy begins when the embryo has implanted itself into the uterine lining and begun to grow - unfortunately in many cases a fertilised egg doesn't mean a pregnancy.
I hope your trip to the doctor's puts your mind at ease hun.
paradise lost yeah going to the doctors tomorrow to be 100
5 sure what it is just wanna be sure as i have the clots if it wasnt for the clots i would probly just not worry about it but clots i worry about
I know it's probably no comfort but in my life i have had long periods when i COULDN'T be pregnant and i still occasionally got the weirdest AF's - weird enough that i'd have been convinced it was a loss if i'd had sex at all that month! With clots, white stringy tissues in the blood (TMI i know) you name it.
Maybe the doc can do a gereral hormone-level BT to test everything, not just for early PG? That might give a clearer picture on what your body was doing this month?
