thanks sheena - i did just that i went and got a scan at 8 weeks because i saw some light pinkish discharge and saw the little heartbeat. i've had a bit more bleeding since, but i'm not so worried anymore. i'm just counting the days till my 12 week scan so i know i am in the all-clear. (if it was up to me, i'd get a scan every week!)
