VERY LONG- Previous ectopics and possible pregnant again?? Help please
VERY VERY LONG AND ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME PLEASE.
MY HISTORY IN A NUTSHELL......
1 x miscarriage in 2006 at approx 7-9 wks ( Natural miscarriage.. no futher issues.)
1x tubal ectopic in august 2012 approx 8 wks (Had operation to remove right tube)
Discovered I was pregnant 2 weeks after my Hens night and 2 weeks before my wedding, Was soooo over the moon and was going to annouce at my wedding. That was until i ended up in hospital due to bleeding, they had me sitting in the consult area whilst they ran blood tests ECT.. At one stage they said it was Rhesus Factor... Then they told me it was to early to see anything on an ultrasound and basically sent me home with scripts for repeat bloods. Finally the day before my wedding they had me have an Ultrasound done and concluded it was ectopic and that i had 2 choices i either had to have the MEXOTRATHE?? (sorry for spelling) or an operation to remove my tube but basically made it sound like i really had no choice but to have my tube removed ASAP!! as i was approx 8 weeks along... So i went ahead and had my tube removed and got married the next day..
... Jan 2013- under investigation for PCOS (still unconfirmed)
1x Tubal ectopic on Feb 23rd (No operation, my Body "dissolved pregnancy"without assistance) 7 weeks
Below is my HCG levels from recent pregnancy
5 feb- 400
6 feb- 400+
8 feb- 120
15 feb- 56
23 feb 21
26 feb- 0
I started bleeding on 26th of January with what i thought was my period, Only to end up in my local ER due to severe pains/bleeding on 5th of feb (Informed them history and that currently TTC) was given MORPHINE for the pain then they did a pregnancy test which came back positive. HCG/INTERNAL EXAM AND EXTERNAL ULTRASOUND were done and they told me i was miscarrying, was released and informed to return if i had any futher pain or issues.
Returned to ER on 23rd with intense pains, was given ENDONE and FLUIDS. waited till morning to have ULTRASOUNDS- internal and external only to be told i was still pregnant but was in fact an ectopic in my remaing tube. Remained at hospital under supervision with pain killers and fluids.
Was released as an out-patient to the EPAU (EARLY PREGNANCY ASSESSMENT UNIT) Had bloods monitered till HCG reached 0 and heard nothing futher from them.
MORE MEDICAL HISTORY-
I found out in my last hospital visit that i had cysts on my ovaries that were possibly the reason for some of the pain and that i also have a wall in my uterus ( I could have gotten pregnant whilst already pregnant)
I was advised to see my doctor and get a referral to see a specialist... This was in Febuary and I only just received a letter from my specialist that im on the waiting list for an appointment..
CURRENT ISSUE-
I recently ended up in Hospital again on the 5th of April due intense pains in my left side, Heightened sense of smell, constant urination, nausea and dizziness. DRs did a blood and urine test for pregnancy which was negative? They blamed the pain on either a UTI or a cyst and sent me home with a referral to my GP for futher investigations. This all happened before 5am.. Later in the day at approx 4-5pm i decided to do a HPT and it had a faint positive?
Hubby and i had been have sexual encounters but were protected, unfortunately at least once that we know of the condom broke....This was approx 3 weeks ago. We were not advised of any particular time frame to wait due to the natrual progression on my last ectopic but was trying to wait a few months if it was possible.
I will be going to my GP for next appointment in 2 days but was wondering if any advice or even just positive thoughts could be given??
Has anyone one else been through similar? or what are your thoughts on this?
I have hope and faith that one day i will get my rainbow baby and I shall never forget my 3 angels..
I have had something similar happen to me a few years ago. Plus have experience caring for people who have had ectopic pregnancies. Also when its happened to you also you tend to take more interest and care for others.
So you still have your left tube right? You may find that in hospital they will only confirm your pregnant if your BHCG is above 25 when in actual fact if your HCG is 5 or above you can usually be considered pregnant so perhaps your HCG is very low but high enough to get a positive result on a HPT.
The wall between your uterus is not that uncommon and does not mean you can get pregnant when your already pregnant. Due to the hormones that are produced once your baby implants regardless of weather thats in the tube or uterus will stop you ovulating again. Its the same if you m/c or have an ectopic you wont ovulate again until your HCG is below 5.
When you have had multiple ectopic pregnancies there is usually a reason why such as endometriosis or a pelvic infection. This means every pregnancy you have your at an increased risk of another ectopic occuring. As you have now had 2 and 1 in your remaining tube I would definately want it looked at and treated if possible before ttc again. As you have had a recent ectopic then there is a good chance your remaining tube is not completely clear which means its partially blocked for the next time you get pregnant and much more likely that your embie wont be able to get through and you will end up with another ectopic. Im not trying to scare you just tell you how important I think it is to have your tube flushed and or have a course of strong antibiotics. This will give you the best chance of conceiving again and having a successful outcome next time.
