Jo,
Your hcg levels soung good. I know they are not doubling but they are pretty high for the stage of pg you were at when they taken.
I really think you will be fine. My hcg was only about 3,000 at 6 weeks with the blighted ovum.
I don't mind talking about the d&c. I really resisted it at first as I'm a big scaredy cat and was worrying myself sick about it. I had a couple of weeks to dwell on the prospect of having onw which didn't help.
I hoped I would miscarry naturally but the doc said the bleeding could have gone on like that for weeks as it was not really heavy, and then I may have needed a d&c anyway.
The actual procedure was quick and painless. I was asleep for 10 minutes and the worst part was getting the drip put in.
I woke up feeling fine, just a bit weak. I was home within 2 hours.
I didn't have any cramping or bleeding after until 3 days later and then it was only like a very light period.
I did feel like having a D&C didn't give me an opportunity to grieve for the loss of my pregnancy as it was all so quick and clinical, but I guess it was a lot less traumatic than a natural m/c.
I did have a bit of an emotional breakdown about three days after the procedure but I think that was the hormones crashing down much the same as after you give birth.

I really hope that you don't need to know any of this, but if things don't go well I am here for you anytime.
Good luck with the scan, which day are you having it?
