What did your cycle do?

Its been 5wks since my D&C. Cycle returned almost 28 days on the knocker after. Assumed it was AF anyway. Quite light bleeding, for only 2-3 days.

That would make me CD8 today. Felt a bit of (TMI) wetness and thought it'd be some CM but it appears to be blood-tinged. Dark, old blood.

Any ideas what's going on??? What did your cycle do post D&C?

I'm counting down the days until I can tell what my body is going to do and where my cycle is at.

Old blood is a good sign though.

Could be that as your gearing up for O, it triggered a little old blood to be released from where the placenta was attached.

AF returned for me exactly 28 days after my m/c started. The next few cycles were quite short. Then I seemed to be going back to normal judging by the OPK I did during the cycle I conceived on.

I hope things get back to normal for you very soon

Thanks guys. No Sara not temping... My cycles were very regular before the m/c so I'm not too sure what's going on.

same thing happened to me first cycle post 17 week loss. I had a longer than normal cycle with spotting for about a week, the next month I went back to normal, ovulated and got pregnant with my now 4 year old son

Hi there,

My Son was born at 17 weeks also 2 weeks ago. I am wanting to try again Feb but was wondering, was it your 2nd cycle after your loss that you concieved?

How did your body cope with that?

Were your taking anything in mean time? ie Multi-vitamins etc?

I delivered my daughter on October 12th 2006, I think I bled for about a week after delivery, and then PPAF arrived 5 weeks after that. I conceived my son on December 14th 2006, which was the very next cycle, 8 weeks after miscarriage. To tell you the truth at the time I felt great, all I wanted was to conceive again and have that longed for 2nd child but the anxiety level through out the pregnancy was high. The hardest part was after delivery, I had such a hard time bonding with my son because I hadn't dealt with the loss of my daughter and I think that affected me for a lot longer than I realised.

I was taking the normal blackmores pregnancy/conception tablets anyway but when I delivered my daughter I immediately swapped to a high dose of folic acid (my daughter had triploidy and spina bifida, which is why we miscarried) and iron supplement on the advice of our genetic counselor. I can't say that it had any real effect on my body conceiving so soon, for the 8 weeks after loosing my daughter I was probably the healthiest I had ever been, so many walks to clear the head and have a secret cry did the world of good!

Ocean Princess - I got my first AF after Hugh 5 weeks exactly, then second AF I had a 28 day cycle (never had one of those!) and it was kinda weird as I did get a bit of brown CM but well after I o'd.... and just quietly I am 4weeks and 5days pregnant ... due in August - the month I am terrified of because of Hugh passing and my ectopic, but hey it's going to be emotional but exciting....

OP - It has varied a bit with each D&C so Im not sure if this will help, but I'll write it out for you:

1st D&C (Jan 11) - AF returned exactly 4 weeks after D&C, then conceived on 3rd cycle after D&C (first attempt). Each cycle after 1st AF about 26-27 days.
2nd D&C (June 11) - AF returned 6 weeks after D&C, conceived on 3rd cycle after D&C (first attempt). Each cycle after 1st AF was about 25-26 days
3rd D&C (Nov 11) - 2 weeks after D&C still bleeding (longest ever for me), no sign of O, so expecting this will be at least a 6-8 week cycle.
