I have just m/c at around 4-5 weeks ( I think) But I am confused about what has happened over the last month. I will try to explain as best I can...
This is my second natural cycle after clomid for 6 months. I have around a 32 day cycle. DH and I last BD at start of last month (June) 2 weeks later AF came and went as normal. Then a week after Af stopped I started spotting. So I decided to test and got BFP. I was confused because i had just finished AF, but wasn't heavy or crampy or anything, just light as usual. So I had BT and a scan last week. The scan showed nothing in my uterus. My BT read hcg of 500's and then next day was 600's. Doc estimated at around 4 weeks PG. So I thought my AF that came was not the m/c bleed and would have to wait for a proper bleed. I started to bleed yesterday morning, had bad cramps, but oddly enough the cramps eased during the day and went as soon as I did a #2 on the loo
Am still bleeding today, light so far, no cramps. So my question is-Is this my m/c bleed?
Should I treat it as a regular AF and start ttc again? (Say in 2 weeks time, provided my hcg is back to normal)
Sorry for my looong post! Any help much appreciated
In answer to your question do you think it was possible that it was a chemical pregnancy? Or are you still getting strong bfp's? It's just odd that they didn't see any signs of pregnancy on ultrasound.
(When I was just over 4 weeks, they found a small gestational sac on u/s- I had slight bleeding too hence the reason for the u/s)
Either way if it was a chemical pregnancy or a miscarriage (my gp has stated its a 'chemical pregnancy' if you loose the pregnancy before a heart beat is detected-which I think is wrong but so many drs agree ...) either way, if your hcg is dropping you can certainly try again straight away or let a natural cycle pass without ttc and try the month after. It's completely up to you and what you feel comfortable with.
You are more fertile after things like a d&c, miscarriage or chem preg.
Good luck hun and I hope you get a very sticky bfp very soon xxxxx

Thanks LysnDan, I think maybe the pregnancy ended before a heartbeat was detected. I tested a week after AF finished and got strong positive, but if i had tested before AF was due (like most of us ttc do ) it would also have been positive. So is it possible my body has kept it inside for a few weeks and is just deciding now that it is getting rid of everything?
I did a HPT 2 days ago and still got a clear positive, but now i have started bleeding I will test again tonight.
Thanks, I am ok. I am thankful that after 2 years we can do it, I think that's what keeps me from being upset. And also the likeliness that we will fall again in the next few months.
Tasha - is it possible to go for another BT? I think that will give you the best indication of what is going on. I would also say that if your HCG is still going up on a BT, it might be worth another u/s in a week or two.
I was going to suggest another BT and/or ultrasound too but see how the bleeding goes too, pay attention if its heavier or clottier than usual, a trip back to the Drs when its finished might help answer some of your questions.
As for trying again ( as per title) thats really up to you. The general recommendation is 2-3 months to allow your body to adjust its cycles again and to allow you some grieving time.
I have successfully conceived straight after a mc (no period in between) and other times its taken 2-3 months of trying for it to happen again.
I hope this helps somewhat, take your time hun and allow what has/is happening with your body to sink in and take time to grieve. SOmetimes we focus so much on getting that baby we forget to remember the ones lost.
You need to go get another blood test. If you are m/c, your levels need to be back to pretty much zero, otherwise you won't fall pg.
I think when ttc again after a loss, it is an individual choice, but given my time again, I'd go for it straight away. Mentally it took me ages to get over my losses and I probably waited too long, but each to their own. GL
Thank you everyone, I just POAS and the line is much lighter now, only faint. The BT I originally had were taken 2 days before i started bleeding, so i think that's why they were going up still. My bleeding is light and no more cramps. I have never been through this before so i didn't know what to expect. I am having another BT when the bleeding stops to check my levels again. I guess the joy of me actually conceiving is outweighing the fact that I had a loss, which is a good thing I think. I have irregular cycles (well i did before clomid) so I'm hoping that maybe the clomid gave a kick start to my ovaries!
Tasha I'm sorry for your loss. Thats good news that the line on the HPT is getting lighter. Its most likely a sign that the HCG is dropping significantly but do make sure it goes negative or you have a BT to confirm its gone. It will stay positive if their is any pregnancy tissue remaining. You should be right to start ttc once the HCG is gone as soon as your feeling up to it. I hope this pregnancy makes you super fertile and your next BFP is just around the corner and its a sticky one.
Tash- im so sorry I have a longer cycle too- around 32-38 days when not on clomid. I never got super fertile after my mc- i always had annovulatory cycles for months after So maybe just get a progesterone test done to make sure you are ovulating???
Lots of love babe xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Yas & Mildez, i think I will get progesterone tests. I have lots of OPK's so I will try them when my hcg levels get back to zero, see if i am ovulating. I conceived naturally this time, funny how 6 months of clomid did nothing and then it happens 2 months after i stop taking it. I had a feeling clomid wasn't for me, my day 21 BT always came back with ridiculous levels like 203 and 189 etc. My OB/GYN said it was fine, but I always felt something was a bit odd.
